The large, dark brown tabby tom approached the meeting rock with a proud look on his face. It was the day that another cat in his Clan became a warrior. Raggedstar knew that SouthClan was being faced with a prey crisis at the moment, so having more warriors out to look for food was all they could ask for. He stood on the top of the rock and called out to his Clan. "Let all cats old enough to climb the trees gather to hear my words!" he called out in his low, booming voice.
He looked out in the crowd for Rushpaw and nodded to her so that she'd know to come up. It was her time to become a warrior in front of her entire Clan. This was a time of celebration for SouthClan, they were rising again from the ashes of the great rebellion and back into glory.

Rushpaw was practically shaking with excitement. Her warrior ceremony was finally happening. She may have had to wait a little longer to perfect her skills, but it was all about to pay off tonight. She looked up at Raggedstar, trying not to look as though she were were about to start gloating or something that she would normally find herself doing.
She felt some stares coming at her, since she was having her ceremony after her mentor had passed. That idea made her feel guilty and nervous that she would not be accepted as a full warrior by the rest of SouthClan. Pushing down the feeling and taking a deep breath, the albino she-cat stepped over, colors reflecting off of her shimmering fur.
'What if they don't accept me because I have no mentor at the end? No, I can't think that.'

Raggedstar looked kindly at Rushpaw. He knew that her mentor had passed away, which was an unfortunate circumstance, but she'd still earned the right to be a warrior. "I, Raggedstar of SouthClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained well in the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." He locked eyes with the apprentice.
"Rushpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" he asked. In the day and age they lived in, they needed all the loyal warriors they could get. Ones who would stick to the code and not stray into darkness.

Rushpaw looked up and gazed steadily back at her leader, whose words sent shivers down her spine when she realized the full extent of them. Her bright red eyes were glowing confidently, strengthened by the sacred words that were the warrior's ceremony. Despite many cats having given up on their ancestors, Rushpaw could not help but believe that StarClan were still there somewhere. They had to be, silent or speaking, they had to be. She would never turn her back on the warrior code or the true character of the Clans.
"Rushpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" She nodded respectfully and gave her answer strong and clear.
"Yes I do."
'Yes I do. I do now, and I always will. I have waited 14 moons to pledge my loyalty. I will not falter like the cats that left for the Silence when things began looking bleak.

Raggedstar smiled, believing Rushpaw's sincerity. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name." Raggedstar did not want to give up on StarClan either. Even though it seemed like they were no longer there, he thought maybe they were just putting them through trials in order to test their faith. "Rushpaw, from this moment you will be known as Rushsnow. StarClan honors your loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SouthClan."
He rested his muzzle on Rushsnow's head. He could hear the cheers of the Clan in the background as they chanted her name. "You'll be travelling to the Standing Stones to be accepted by StarClan tonight," he meowed. In a lower voice he meowed, "But no matter what happens, I consider you a full warrior of this Clan."

Redstep had come to sit beside his other clanmates. He was deputy of Southclan, and it was always a wondrous occasion when a young cat received their warrior name. Rushpaw looked exciting, the light in her eyes brighter then the stars of silver pelt.
Redstep listened silently by his clanmates for Raggedstar to say the words that would welcome this apprentice as a warrior.
"Rushpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Rushsnow!"
An excellent name for the young albino warrior. Redstep raised his head to cheer for the new warrior. "Rushsnow! Rushsnow! Rushsnow!" His voice matched the other cats in Southclan, as they welcomed her into their ranks.

Leafpaw was literally bouncing with excitement for the ceremony. She bounded around her mentor, Redstep, with such enthusiasm that she oftentimes tripped over him and the surrounding cats.
Another apprentice was to be made a Warrior!
The tortoiseshell she-cat could not contain herself. Someday (and soon!) that would be her up there, with every cats’ eyes on her, becoming a fully-fledged member of SouthClan. Or, at least she hoped it would be soon. Leafpaw wasn’t sure if her troublesome run in with WestClan would delay her own ceremony… “What do you think my Warrior name will be?” she couldn’t help herself from asking Redstep, even though the ceremony called for quiet and respect. “Will Rushpaw get to take me training?”
She could sense when the ceremony was coming to a close and she looked up with her sky-blue eyes glittering. “Rushpaw, from this moment you will be known as Rushsnow.”
“Rushsnow, Rushsnow!” Leafpaw called, her tail held high. What an awesome name! Today was the best day in SouthClan that they’ve all had in a while. Her surrounding Clanmates, all calling Rushsnow’s new name, hardly even looking like they were hungry anymore.

Rushsnow listened as her Clanmates accepted her, more enthusiastically that she had expected. She licked her leader's shoulder respectfully, glad that she was accepted. Upon hearing that she would go to the Standing Stones to be officially accepted by their ancestors, she knew that Raggedstar wasn't ready to give up either. That made her proud to be a SouthClan warrior, that her leader hadn't given up hope.
When Raggedstar said that no matter what, she would always be considered a full warrior. "Thank you, Raggedstar," she whispered. Looking out over the Clan she began to make her trip to the Standing Stones.
She walked with dignity, not letting any emotions slip past her mind.

Serpentpaw had begun watching the ceremony as soon as it awoke him from his thoughts while daydreaming in the apprentice den. Moving out of the den, blinking the sunlight from his eyes, he took note that there hadn't been a lot of ceremonies since his own movement to apprenticeship. Not that he really cared for the various ceremonies of others, in fact he usually went out of his way to avoid them. However, the jet black tom had already joined the crowd. Serpentpaw was many things, but he was not rude. At least, not in front of a large group of clan mates, or potential mentors. He wasn't that much of an outcast...
Tail gently flicking, he light-heartedly joined in the chanting of Rushsnow's new name. The change from apprentice to Warrior was one of great honour, and one ceremony he was quite hoping to be a part of himself. He was a long ways from that moment though, obviously, especially with the absence of a mentor. But there was no point in wallowing in his unhappiness. He didn't want to put a damper on things for the cats around him..
He blinked his deep emerald eyes as his gaze focused on this she-cat, Rushsnow. He couldn't say he really recognized her, but that wasn't too surprising to him. Now she would make her way to the Standing Stones and truly fulfill her passage as a warrior. The Standing Stones. The young apprentice had always wished to see them, he was a sucker for unusual landmarks and myths aside. But the journey was very long, he didn't know the way, and who would tell him anyway? The thought of following Rushsnow quickly made its way into his head. It was a wonderful opportunity, and why should he pass that up?
He smiled in a rather childish/kittish fashion as he soundlessly slid into the brambles for concealment as his eyes remained trained on the newly appointed warrior. After a moment of hesitation as a few unregistered thoughts of caution attempted to cloud this wonderful new ploy, he followed after the she-cat.
