NAME: Orion AGE: 21 moons (born in new-leaf) GENDER: Neutered Tom CLAN: the Silence RANK: Revolutionary
DESCRIPTION: Orion is a large, well-muscled tom. He is a pure-bred Maine Coon of the red classic tabby coloration. His stripes are thick and very defined, stretching the whole length of his body. A sprinkling of white is dashed on the tip of his wide muzzle, which trails down his neck and covers his belly. His thickly-furred, almost raccoon-like tail has two white rings near the tip. His back paws are white; one is just a sock, the other is white up to his body.
As a Maine Coon, he is absolutely massive--and still growing. His fur is long and thick, especially at his flanks, although its overall length depends on the season. Tufts of fur between his toes help him trek through the snow. His paws are wide and heavy. His fur is especially thick about his shoulders, where it forms a lion-like ruff. Orion's body is rectangular and his chest is broad. His eyes are a bright, vivid yellow.
PERSONALITY: Orion is an immensely shallow cat. His fur is especially well groomed for a wild cat. Obsessively so. He feeds on praise and is susceptible to any kind of flattery. He is selfish but not needy, preferring to do things on his own instead of having it done for him. This Orion keeps mostly to himself. When sensible, he is very intelligent.
There is a second side to Orion that appears and disappears as quickly as his first. Brash, rude, violent, volatile, Orion lashes out with little provocation. Insignificant things can set him off; a unflattering critique, an ignorant comment, a snide remark. Once this side of himself is breached, he will not stop until he is sated.
The third part of Orion's fractured personality is one he maintained through most of his life to survive the mountains on his own. His eyes are clouded and distant, and he becomes prone to wandering without cause. He talks, in muttered tones, to only himself. In this state, he usually reverts to his violent side before returning to normal.
He knows little of Clan life and doesn't give half a mouse tail for StarClan.
HISTORY: Orion was born in a Twolegnest to a pair of beautiful, Champion Maine Coon cats. Out of his litter, Orion was the largest, with the most impressive coat and measurements. His Twoleg owners, and his mother and father, were all very impressed. They filled Orion's head with images of a luxurious life carried by awards and the admiration of all cats. The young kit drank it all in, allowing himself to be primed for fame.
When it came right down to it, however, there was something decidedly wrong with Orion. His temperament was off. The kit refused to be handled by Twolegs, fought his siblings viciously, and attacked unprovoked. From his parents, he would not take critique well and would fly into violent tempers. His Twoleg owners, with a touch of horror, realized that Orion could not expect to make it as a show cat.
They had him neutered, with the hope that he would become more mellow and make a better pet to a normal Twoleg family. It initially appeared to work. At four moons, he was sold to a wealthy family that lived on the opposite side of the mountains bordering NorthClan, who called him Snowshoe for his wide, white paws.
Immediately, Orion's old self resurfaced in full. His new Twoleg owners allowed him access to the outdoors to his will, simply to be free of the ill-tempered cat for part of the day. The first night he was permitted outside, Orion did not return.
He roamed the mountains, becoming a loner. He did not interact with any fellow cats he may have met. His thick, long fur and strong blood allowed him to survive the mountain terrain. He caught his own food and followed the prey as it moved.
At 20 moons of age, the mountain began talking to Orion. Starved of interaction for many moons, he listened to the whispering with eager ears.
And the voices led him to the Silence.
