Her white haunting pelt blending in perfectly with the patches of snow that touched the ground. She smirked, as her tail lightly brushed some tall grass. The forest was made for her, never had she felt more at home here. The loner parted her jaws as a breeze blew past, carrying a promising taste of rabbit with it. Perfect, she hadn't eaten since yesterday. Moro crouched down, and without making a sound crept towards the scent. With sharp gold eyes she saw it, digging at the frozen earth unaware of the white cat only a few rabbit leaps away.
Once she was close, she jumped at the rabbit catching before it had time to turn tail and run. With a swift bite the prey was now hers and she settled down to eat it before the chilling air could freeze its warm body. The rabbit tasted delicious and was just what she needed. Moro slid her tongue around her jaws, thankful that she could hunt so well.
Moro was a loner, so she had to look out for herself. She heard rumors from the alley cats of twolegplace that wild cats lived here in clans, and some rogues and other cats were forming a group as well. Standing, she fluffed up against the cold and peered around with her blazing gold eyes. She had no intentions of giving up her life to live with others, and if they were together she wouldn't stand a chance. One has to be on guard all the time. Her ears pricked at a sound behind her. She whirled around and took a few steps back. Was it possible she hadn't been alone? The scent of rabbit still clung in the air, perhaps it had attracted another cat? Moro sighed, being a good hunter was a good skill but here she didn't feel as weary now that she was away from those evil two-legs.

Sweeney prowled through the hunting grounds as he did ever so often. This time he was on the alert for any members of the Silence. He hated those cats, always trying to pester him into joining their cult. They had their tactics, one way or another, by fruitless threats or trying to convince him that it would be the best thing for him.
He saw another cat in the distance and frowned. If it was another one of them, he was about ready to claw its ears off. He approached the stranger, for once angered to the point where he would not hold off in the sidelines. He growled, watching the other cat catch a rabbit. He approached faster now, then leaped in front of the other cat and snarled.
"Who are you?" he asked. "If you're one of the members of the Silence, I'm sick and tired of hearing from all of you!"

Moro jumped back in surprise. So there had been another cat around! Her white pelt bristled and she hissed in alarm as the tabby and white tom spat threats at her. Her gold eyes locked with his in anger and surprise as she flattened her ears.
"I have no idea what your talking about!" She hissed digging her claws into the ground. The remains of her rabbit lay to the side, its scent still hanging in the air. "I have no idea what this 'silence' is!" Moro lashed her tail angrily as she spoke, not wanting to appear weak in front of the larger tom. His words confused her, was this the group of cats she had heard rumors about?
Moro swiped her claws towards the tom in warning. She just missing his nose only due to the short space she had put between them.

Sweeney was taken aback when he saw how confused the she-cat looked. He had made a mistake. This must be a loner, not some cat from the Silence. He backed up a little, trying to avoid her claws. He figured he must have startled her terribly with his accusations. His ears went back a little bit and he licked his chest in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were a member of this stupid cult that lives around here," he meowed. He turned away from her and looked to the distance. "I'll just be on my way now. Again, I apologize." He began to walk away.

Moro flattened her fur at his apology, this cat didn't intend to harm her. Moro tore her golden gaze from him and flicked her tail in polite farewell as she to turned to walk away. Before even setting a paw on the ground questions started to pass through her mind. She had heard rumors about cats who lived here but hadn't ever met any of them. Anyways, why was this tom so aggressive towards them? Curiosity got the better of her and she turned and called out to him.
"Wait!" she meowed taking a few short bounds towards him before he vanished. "What are you talking about? Who are they?" If they were something to be wary of she felt she needed to know for reasons other than curiosity.

Sweeney stopped in his tracks as she came bounding up to him. She seemed interested in what he had to say. He couldn't say he didn't mind putting a damper on the Silence's recruitment and telling her to stay away from them. The tabby and white tom sat down, staring at the she-cat.
"They are The Silence," he meowed. "They're a dangerous bunch of lunatics who live in a cave not far from here. They think they're making some crazy religious movement for the better, but they're really all delusional. They rant about hearing voices, and they try to force almost everyone they come across to join their stupid cult." He clawed the ground in irritation. "They're best to steer clear of, there's no telling what they're capable of."

Moro listening in silence, with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws. She noted his claws digging into the ground and was glad his frustrations wouldn't be in a fight with her like it had seemed to moments before. Moro nodded when he had finished speaking. "Thank you Stranger. I will be sure to avoid them. Honestly though it sounds like tales for kits! Hearing voices."
"I suppose you've had more then one bad run with them?" She meowed not waiting for an answer. "If warmer winds don't come soon I will probably move off the mountains for a time, I hope I don't have to experience them for myself!" Moro's mind wondered to them. She had never understood the idea of living with other cats but these particular ones sounded even more mouse-brained. Cats that hear voices! Moro pulled herself to her paws now, giving her chest a few swift licks.

Sweeney nodded. It does sound like a tale for kits, he thought with a sneer. He curled his tail around his paws, though the tip of it kept flicking back and forth as he spoke. "Yes, they're adamant about proselytizing. They've been persistently talking to me, over and over again. It's tiresome, and I don't trust them in the least," he meowed. "If you ask me, it's just a big gathering of insane cats."
He extended his claws and stretched them out a little bit, though not with threat, but he was picturing getting his claws into one of the members of the Silence and clawing their ears off. "The mountains will always be my home, but I might change my mind about staying here if they continue to bother me," he sighed.

"I've lived here now for a while to, and you're the first cat I've run into in nearly a moon." She meowed, her eyes trained on his flexing claws. "Though through tough weather I tend to live lower in the forest, my pelt isn't much use in cold weather. " Moro peered over her shoulder as if she expected those crazy kit-tale cats to come running through yowling about voices and such.
"Do these cats have a leader?" She asked turning back to him. Sticking around and questioning this cat made her paws fidgety as she likes to keep herself on the move, but a question or two more wouldn't do her any harm. Moro took a pace back, still weary of the stranger and whether or not his frustrations would be let out on her. A fight in leaf-bare was not what she needed, though the tom seemed controlled enough.

Sweeney licked his paw casually while Moro spoke. He never left the mountains, not even when it got cold. He found shelter in the cave systems that were scattered through the craigy area. He had a cave where he lived then, off in the distance and as far away as he could get from the Silence without leaving the mountains.
"I've heard that they have a leader," he replied. "They say she's some kind of prophetess or oracle. It's all a bunch of lunatic nonsense, if you ask me. Magic? Mysticism? Nonsense. They're dangerous, delusional felines."

Moro nodded, not sure if she truly believed his words. Already on her paws, she took a few light steps back. "Thank you for answering my questions" she meowed, "I'll be on my way now and won't bother you more." Moro turned and started to walk away from the tom. She was born on the streets and has been on her own since she first set paw in the mountains. Moro had no place among cats, whether it be kittypets, a band of rogues or those mysterious silence cats. It would make no sense now to change her ways to follow and speak to a stranger she barley knew.
Waving her tail in farewell her mind started swimming with thoughts. She was skeptical of the tom, but who wouldn't be with those kit stories? Moro glanced back at him for a fleeting moment to confirm she hadn't imagined him in the first place.

From a distance, pressed against the ground with wildly shifting blue eyes was a red tabby and white tom. He licked his whiskers, hearing the conversation through the breezes and the wind. Everything seemed to echo in the mountains. Words could cut through the eerie silence like a knife. He heard how the brown tabby was consistently trying to convince the white she-cat about how the Silence were not to be trusted.
Scorpio reckoned he'd have to do something to change this. If enough of these loners decided that the Silence were dangerous, they could rise up against them and try to take them down. For the good of the cult he was going to have to speak up. He prowled forward with his off-kilter walk. "Excuse me," he purred. He watched her constantly with his stormy gray-blue eyes. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation."

When Sweeney smelled the scent of another cat in the air, he was both reluctant to leave but wanting to get as far away as possible. Likely it was another Silence cat trying to indoctrinate the white she-cat. Luckily he had managed to warn her before they got to her. He stood in the distance, seeing the strange orange and white tom approach the she-cat.
"She'd better watch out for those cunning bastards," he murmured to himself. "They will try to get her to join them using any tactics they can manage."

Moro wearily pressed her ears against her head, uncomfortable about the strange cat's eyes following her. "What of it?" She meowed raising her tail, her short white fur starting to prickle along her spine. The ginger and white tom carried a strange scent on his fur, unlike a rogue or loner, but not a kittypet either.
Moro dared a look over her shoulder at the tom she had just spoken to, Was this one of the silence cult cats? Her sharp gold eyes met with the new tom's as she waited silently for him to explain himself. It was unusual for her to meet any cats in her travels while in the mountains, let alone two in a single day.

"What the loner tells you is not true. He merely wishes to dissuade you from us because he fears our power. We are cats of higher calling. We wish that you would join us and see just how much power there can be gained from the mountains," Scorpio meowed. His gray eyes only vaguely hid his manic-depressive personality. If he had to take a week, he was going to talk this she-cat into joining The Silence. Then maybe they would be proud of him and he could gain some kind of favor.
Scorpio had once belonged to the Clans, a warrior by the name of Flickerlight. He had abandoned his past to follow the voices and changed his name according to the name they gave him. He was still as unpredictable as ever, his emotions ready to spill over the edge at the slightest touch. He was like a powder keg, and not a safe cat to be around, much like many of the members of the Silence.
