Icebriar didn't mind the decree so much. She already had a mate whom she loved very much, Ashcloud. What she did mind was having kits. She wasn't sure she wanted to put aside everything to look out them, though the more she thought about it the more the idea became alright in her mind. She wasn't sure if she would make a good mother though. She was too small and couldn't protect them well enough. Her ears went down as she went to go and stand by her mate.

[THiSTLESTAR] Thistlestar turned to the medicine cat. "Yes, I'll be going on my own," she meowed. "I trust you and the warriors will take care of the Clan in my absence." Her eyes were filled with seriousness. She didn't want to come back after going to the Standing Stones to find that her Clan was gone. Her travel to the Standing Stones was to give StarClan one last chance to prove they were still there. If they did not respond, she would tell her Clan that they were abandoning the old ways.
"Be brave warriors while I'm gone," she meowed. "Keep yourselves safe, because no one else well."

S U N B U R S T
A light creamy-ginger she-cat stepped out of the light and into the cave to join the rest of EastClan. Her tired eyes betrayed her youth, having only been named a warrior several moons prior to this moment. She carried five kits with her, going back to retrieve the last one; a brown and white tabby she-cat. Her mate was nowhere to be seen, not returning from his hunting, leaving the rather unlikely mother of a queen to handle her kits alone. Ignoring some glances, she curled protectively around her litter, her sharp orange-amber eyes gleaming,
Sunburst was rather unshaken, more shaken by her kits and the time spent away from the camp after fleeing to save their lives than the battle that she was currently guilting over. She had abandoned her Clan, even though she was about to kit and all of them would have been killed. Even if she wasn't the motherly type, she was still incredibly protective of them and would kill anything that attempted to take them away that was not a Clanmate of hers.
Her guilt still ate at her when she looked at Crowkit, the exact copy of their father. The father that they may never truly meet if he did not come back soon.

The tiny silver kitten poked his head around his siblings. He'd only been around a very short while, but had already experienced much. Everything was so strange and confusing, and now he was surrounded by strange cats. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to react, so he mewled and shrunk against his brother Crowkit.
Sleetkit didn't understand what was going on. He had no way of knowing that his father was missing, no way of knowing about the battle that had just been fought. He knew that he was tired and confused, and that was the extent of his world.
Sleetkit sneezed, scaring himself. He stumbled backwards into his siblings, and gave a small shiver,

Windsky snarled quietly at the request for each of the cats to take a mate. She still remembered Littlefoot, the pain of losing him stung her heart. And the pain of losing her first kit, Spiritkit. When she closed her eyes it hurt like it had only happened yesterday. The raiders attacking and taking her daughter from her, and slaughtering her mate right before her eyes, it all seemed like fresh memories. How can I move on to someone else? she thought.
Never did she want to disobey the word of her Clan leader. After all, orders were orders. She looked around at the warriors. There were many handsome toms, but none of them were like Littlefoot. She sighed and looked down at the ground. She saw Sleetkit among his siblings and her heart warmed a little. She had a soft spot for kits. "Hello little one," she meowed. "What a time for you to be brought into the world..."

If one good thing had come out of this war, it was finding this young apprentice. Admittedly it felt strange having an apprentice so soon after she had her own mentor torn away from her. She noted his apprehension, feeling sorry for him. But the tom would learn and grow accustomed to this. The medicine cat truly hoped Thistlestar’s new orders didn’t apply to the two of them. They would be up to their scruffs in work as it were.
“We’ll need to go out to find herbs and some dry place to store them,” she answered Whitepaw and turned her stare to the ground as she got lost in thought. “We’ll need marigold, and a lot of it. We can’t risk infection right now. More cobwebs. Mossfire will need parsley… And Sunburst is so young with so many kits, she could probably use borage leaves, if we can find any.” What else would Kestrelclaw get that she was overlooking? Snowfall couldn’t think. It didn’t matter, they had enough to do as it was. “We’ll go as soon as Thistlestar leaves and the Clan settles down for some rest. For now, you can check on Sunburst’s kits.”
Speaking of Thistlestar, Snowfall nodded respectively to their leader. She was a little afraid that Thistlestar would be going without any kind of protection, but truthfully, this was probably something the she-cat wanted to do on her own, and they really couldn’t spare any warriors. Snowfall was also a little perturbed that she avoiding naming a new deputy in her place, however that was also her own decision. “Travel safely and swiftly,” she meowed to the new leader.

Crowkit Crowkit jumped at his sibling's touch. He felt the warm pelt of Sleetkit roll into him and was comforted by this. This world was so odd to him. Voices around him chimed in and out as he shivered. A hollow feeling invaded him more quickly then he would of liked. It made him figit uncomfortably and he mewled a hungry squeak. The clan this little tom was born into had been through much. These kits had no real home without their camp, and no warm nursery to sleep in. Crowkit didn't know if this camp, or the feeling of a nursery. His world was the outskirts of the territory. His mother and siblings the first scents he took in, becoming his greatest comfort. Crowkit's tiny jaws parted in yawn exposing small teeth and a tiny pink tongue. Crowkit curled around into his other siblings, Pinekit, Brindlekit, and Blossomkit.

Whitepaw nodded, and scurried over to Sunburst. He was relieved to see they'd gotten out okay, but he couldn't see their father anywhere. "Are you okay?" He asked Sunburst in a shaking voice.
