SASHA COULDN'T BELIEVE that Brodie hadn't caught on to the fact that he was in as much danger as Almondpaw yet. The only thing he could think to do was something he didn't do often... he needed to intimidate this haughty cat. He unsheathed his claws, and following in Omega's ways, gave Brodie a striking smack on the side of the face.
"You need to know where you are right now," Sasha meowed at him, practically trembling with excitement now. "You're in Raider territory, and we're not nice." He looked over at his fellow raiders, hoping for some positive reinforcement on the job he was doing. He licked his teeth and glared over in Almondpaw's direction.
HE SET ONE large paw down on her tail to ensure that she couldn't run away. He dug his claws in as well, trying to cause her pain. She looked frightened enough as it was already, but as a raider, Sasha's sadism really didn't have any limitations. His eyes flashed. He couldn't believe how much he was enjoying this. He couldn't believe that he had usually been too afraid to attempt to do this before. Now he had two smaller, weaker cats to pick on and it made him feel quite powerful.
Almondpaw panicked as Sasha put his paw on her tail. "Let go of me!" she screeched loudly. She unsheathed her claws and tried desperately to claw at the raider. She was small, weak and fragile, and all her slashing and swooping would be to no avail. She turned to Brodie. He seemed to be just as surprised about the attack, which surprised but relieved her.
He's in just as much danger as I am! I'm not in this alone! she thought. If only I can get him to help me fight back."Brodie, come on!" she urged. "You've got to help me fight them." She knew that the two of them were no match for the raiders, but she'd rather go down fighting than be taken by them and brainwashed into being one of them.
Danger instincts were growing inside of Brodie. When Omega left a small gash on his nose, he winced and looked around. Have I been tricked? he asked himself. He backed up, but was shocked when Sasha's claws raked down the side of his face, leaving a row of long, open wounds. Brodie yowled, and jumped back. Surprise and fear filled his blue eyes. "What was that for? I was helping you!" he shouted.
I don't care if Almondpaw knows I was trying to lead her into a trap now, this is too much. Brodie still wanted to join the Raiders, but not like this. He looked at Almondpaw when she requested his help in fighting them. He swallowed. He was always trying to be so brave and strong, but now he wasn't sure that he could live up to his own hype. "I can't," he mouthed to her.
Gage gave an interested glance to Sasha when Brodie mentioned that he'd been helping. I knew that he couldn't do this all on his own, he thought. He looked back at them. So far they hadn't hurt Almondpaw terribly. Though, she was caught by the tail like a prey animal by Sasha. "Careful with her, you don't want to hurt her, she's carrying kits. Kits are important to us," he meowed. He didn't mind as much if they hurt Brodie.
Seems like a bastard if he led Almondpaw into a trap like this, he thought.
(Sorry it's sort, I don't have much time on the computer right now.)
Omega couldn't help but admire the fighting spirit of the smaller cat. She'd make a strong raider one day, it seemed. She was so small, however, that Omega could simply pick her up by the scruff and carry her off... which is exactly what she opted to do. "Follow me," she meowed to her comrades in a muffled voice, with fur in her mouth. He knew that Sasha and Gage could probably handle Brodie on their own.
The pit in the ground where they kept prisoners already had some assorted, pitiful-looking cats down in it. They were weary, underfed and beaten. Some of them were about ready to break down and accept being in the raiders, finally. Omega dropped Almondpaw down into the pit and rearranged the thorns over the top. "That should hold you for now," she meowed, having no pity for any of the cats.
AFTER OMEGA TOOK care of Almondpaw, Sasha turned his attention over to Brodie. This cat was going to need more than just a couple scratches to learn his place, that much was obvious. With his claws out, Sasha sashayed up to the understandably confused and frightened kittypet. "You're an outsider, and we've got to make sure you're not just here to double-cross us," he hissed.
LEAPING FORWARD LIKE he'd seen the others do, he jumped on top of the kittypet and started scratching at him with fury. He briefly looked back on Gage and hoped that the other cat would give him some assistance. He was bigger than Brodie, but Sasha wasn't exactly a skilled fighter. He was always better at bringing back prey for the raiders, but fighting was certainly not his strong point.
The young she-cat squeaked as she was picked up by Omega. She found herself completely unable to move. Panicked by her paralysis, her jaw was hanging open as she waited to cry out when she could again. She found herself dangling over a deep pit, and she swallowed fearfully.
Omega dropped her into the pit where there were many beaten, sickly prisoners. Almondpaw hit the ground with a thud, and pain ran through her body. She'd landed on her shoulder, but it resonated. "Let me out of here!" she cried out. "Help me, someone!"
Brodie as horrified as Sasha jumped on him, but he extended his claws and did his best to fight back. "I wasn't planning on double-crossing you!" he exclaimed, rolling over. He had scratches all over his body, soaking his fur in blood. He yowled and tried to get up so that he could run away.
Somewhere inside he knew that there was no way he could take on all these raiders at once, but Brodie was going to try. He couldn't let himself be beaten. It would wound his pride more than it wounded him.
Gage cringed a little at Omega's treatment of Almondpaw. He saw the captain signal to follow, but he and Sasha still had to subdue Brodie. Gage watched as Sasha jumped on the younger black and white cat, but Brodie seemed to be able to hold his own. Gage knew that Sasha was not much of a fighter, so he would have to jump in to help.
"Move over, Sasha!" he growled, jumping on top of Brodie and attempting to pin him to the ground. He did his best not to hurt the young kittypet too much, but he still had to use enough force to pin him to the ground.
Omega turned, hearing the scuffle and she rolled her eyes. Toms, she thought. They were over there, attempting to beat up the small kittypet. I could have that cat unconscious before they could even blink. She strutted up to them with a glint in her eye. "Boys, boys, step aside and let a professional take this!" She out-ranked them, so they really didn't have a choice but to back down.
She unsheathed her claws and lashed out at Brodie. She was aiming to do a lot more damage than the other two cats. If there was one thing she was good at, it was beating the newcomers into submission. As a Captain, she got her fair share of doing this as well.
WHEN HE WAS scratched and fought back against, Sasha recoiled. He had expected so much less of a fight out of Brodie. He felt the minor scratches aching. "Oh, I've been wounded," he murmured, making them out to be something worse than what they actually were. "I need someone to help me." He was only aware of very few cats in the Raiders who knew how to deal with wounds.
HE WATCHED GAGE AND OMEGA take on Brodie, and was envious that they fought with far more skill than he possessed. He lashed his tail and turned away, still feeling in the pain from his cuts. It made him wince, and he gave them a few licks. "Please hurry up and finish. I need one of you to give me some assistance," he whined.
Though Brodie did momentarily sneer when he was able to hold his own against Sasha, he was immediately overtaken by the other, more capable fighters. He felt cuts rake down his body, soaking his fur with blood and making him cry out in pain. He couldn't move to get out from underneath Omega, and Gage.
He was beginning to become overwhelmed, and he was losing so much blood that it was making him dizzy. Finally, he could fight no more, and he collapsed over onto his side. He was panting heavily, and his wounds stung and burned. Am I going to die? he thought.
"He's had enough," said Gage as Brodie collapsed. "We should stop now, Omega." He wondered if he could actually convince the she-cat to quit her raging fury. She was a Captain, as well, which meant even more difficulty because he couldn't give her any orders. Holding his breath, he looked away. The black and white kittypet probably couldn't take much more of this.
Come on Omega, you know better than to kill the hostages. Listen to someone for once, other than yourself, he thought, wishing that he could just command her to do something once.
Omega looked over to Sasha, who was complaining about his unimpressive injuries. She rolled her eyes. "Stop complaining, you only got scratched a little, and by this silly little kittypet at that," she spat. She looked down at Brodie. He was collapsing underneath her, so she stood back a little. Gage was telling her to stop, which almost made her want to start again.
"Fine, take this kittypet over to the pit," she ordered. "I think he's learned his lesson." She kept her nose high in the air. She wasn't going to let anyone think she wasn't in control -- or that Gage had been able to give her an order of any sort. She prodded Brodie on the side. He was bleeding heavily and looked like he was going to collapse. Fine work on my part, she thought, arrogantly.
THE DARK GRAY raider was bothered that they didn't seem to take his complaints seriously. They were not concerned for his minor scratches, nor did they want to waste any time in helping him with it. Grunting, he licked his wounds some more, trying to make the pain go away. "Stupid kittypet," he growled to himself. Most of them didn't even have claws. He had to pick one that did.
HE FOLLOWED OMEGA'S ORDERS despite her teasing of him. He picked up Brodie by the scruff and dragged him over to the pit. He was lightweight enough, and with a push he let him fall to the ground. "That'll show you to fight back," he snarled with malice. He turned to his fellow raiders, hoping they would give him a show of approval for what he did.
