Eclipsesun stared up at the sky, contemplating everything that had happened to him recently. He could hardly believe that he was the father of a litter of kits, completely unintentionally. Sparkstorm had seduced him, but he now refused to get involved in her life. This was not what he imagined for a family. He thought his eventual family would be based on love, not lust.
The cabin provided shelter from the storm outside, and even though the wind swept through and everything was gray, Eclipsesun focused on the clouds. They covered the sun, and darkened the world. He wanted a real mate, not some hussy who walked into his life just to sleep with him, unprepared for any consequences.
He would ask StarClan for answers, but he didn't believe they were even there anymore.

Crowbone followed Eclipsesun's scent from the camp, somewhat considered about the other warrior, who hadn't seemed the same since he'd gotten Sparkstorm pregnant. It was best to make sure that he didn't try anything drastic, or that he wasn't depressed about everything. He saw his clanmate in the distance and he walked up towards him. "Is everything alright, Eclipsesun?" he asked. He hoped that he didn't startle the other cat. He hadn't heard the warrior say anything yet, so he must have just come down here to think about things. He couldn't see any cats from any other Clans, though he did always have to warrior about disloyalty.

Eclipsesun turned his head. It was getting to be often that cats would interupt him when he went out to think on his own. At least, since it was Crowbone, it wouldn't end in accidental pregnancy this time. "I'm alright, thank you for asking," he meowed. "I suppose I'm just not ready to be a father." At least not the father of kits born to a sleep-around like Sparkstorm... He couldn't believe he'd actually fallen for her wily seduction.
He wondered if maybe Crowbone would have some wise words to share with him. He did admire the warrior in general, and many cats in the Clan looked up to Crowbone. "I just don't know what to do," he sighed. He really didn't want to go back to camp to hear anyone else tell him congratulations or see Sparkstorm's sad face peering out from the nursery.

He nodded, trying to understand the situation. "I know you must have been expecting to one day fall in love and have a family like that, am I correct?" he meowed to him. "I know when plans fall through it can be devastating. Sparkstorm still needs someone, though, even if you don't love her." He was hoping he could urge Eclipsesun to at least look after the poor queen, even if it did mean that they never spoke again after the kits were raised. They were half his responsibility after all, even if he didn't care for their mother. He was only trying to do what was right. He hoped he didn't upset Eclipsesun.

The jet black tom flicked his ears. He knew what Crowbone was trying to say, but he didn't want to participate. Sparkstorm could raise the kits on her own. She had family members who could help her out. He wasn't about to let responsibilities such as taking care of a family that he didn't want get in the way of all that. He wasn't going to waste his life taking care of four little furballs.
"I can't do that, Crowbone," he meowed, looking down at his paws. He shook his head. "I'm not ready for this. I don't want to have a family with Sparkstorm. When I find a mate that I'm truly in love with, I'll take the responsibility and raise my family, but not before then." I'm not a bad cat for wanting something more than this, he tried to reassure himself. He knew deep down inside that he might be doing something wrong by not taking responsibility, but there was no way that he was going to change his mind. [/center]

Crowbone sighed. He had tried to give his advice, but Eclipsesun didn't seem like he wanted to budge at all. He nodded with some hint of understanding. It was difficult, especially since Eclipsesun had once been in love with someone, though he had lost her a while ago. He seemed to have some sense of romanticism, and he had made up his mind to keep himself out of Sparkstorm's life. "I think I know what you mean. You don't want this life. You want a different mate further down the road," Crowbone meowed. "Still, at the very least you could work out some sort of deal with Sparkstorm. She's having a hard time." She feels as though you've used her, he added in his mind.

Eclipsesun narrowed his eyes and looked away. He didn't want to work out any kind of deal with Sparkstorm, and he could tell by Crowbone's tone that he was a little more on her side than his. He clawed at the ground, wishing that he had something to take his mind off the whole thing. "Maybe she shouldn't have been so easy," he growled. "I didn't know what I was getting into, I was lonely."
He had never wanted to produce kits with Sparkstorm. It had just happened. He hadn't even known that she was in heat. He cursed silently to himself. "In any case, we should be getting back to camp. I get this feeling something's going on."

Crowbone nodded. He did get the sense that something important might be happening in NorthClan. He wasn't sure if it was intuition or just a sense of impending doom. "I have the same feeling," he meowed. "I hope nothing awful has happened." He didn't want to be away from the camp in the event of an attack. What kind of warrior would he seem like, then?
He got up and stretched, preparing himself for the walk back to NorthClan camp. He hoped that when he got there, his feelings would be put to rest and there wouldn't be any trouble in the Clan.
