He shook his head. Now Captain Jagger was barely able to speak, just sitting there stammering like he didn't know what words were. "Right, Captain, you should calm yourself down," he meowed. "You're acting as though you just one all the Clans in a fell swoop, instead of my heart." A slight twitch of his mouth momentarily betrayed the slight disgust he was harboring to have to say the things he did.
He didn't know where he should go from here, so he hoped that Jagger would calm down soon enough. Then, they could decide what to do. Maybe Koschei just saying the words was enough to make the Captain happy?

Jagger was struggling to remain calm. Koschei had actually mentioned that he'd won his heart. That just made it even more difficult. "Right... right," he breathed. "Does this mean we can be mates? Please say that we can be mates." At this point in time he was almost struck with lust. This could be his one chance to get together with the love of his life.

Koschei clawed at the ground. What have I gotten myself into? he thought with dismay. He did not want to be Jagger's mate. He simply wanted the cat to stop pining his days away with heartache. He was clever, however, and he knew that he could get himself out of this situation if he thought hard enough about it. His tail swished as he pondered.
"I'm not sure if I'm ready for that," he meowed, carefully. "I have no doubt that there is a future for us, but I don't want to commit because I'm afraid that if one of us gets hurt or killed, the other will be left heartbroken. It's too dangerous as it is, especially with war coming soon." He hoped that this would satisfy the calico tom.

These words were enough to satisfy the calico tom. As long as there was hope in the world that he and Koschei would be together one day, he could manage holding off until then. He had been feeling utterly hopeless beforehand, but this had improved his mood drastically. He bounded up to Koschei and gave him a lick on the cheek. "I understand," he purred gently. "After this war is over, and we rule the Clans, I will be there by your side."

Koschei flinched when Jagger gave him a lick on the cheek. He looked around, searching to see if anyone had seen. When he was satisfied that no one had, he looked back to the calico. "I'm glad that we have this settled now," he said. "Everything's out in the open now and all that. I've got to get back to the Run." He flicked his tail and began to head in the direction of Raider's Run.
I sincerely hope that he doesn't follow me, he thought, knowing that it would be awkward to walk with Jagger all the way back to the Run. I also sincerely hope that he doesn't mention this to anyone. Heaven forbid that anyone hears about any of this, ever.

Jagger began to wander around in circles as Koschei left. He was just now catching his breath. I did it! I actually did it! Koschei likes me -- Koschei loves me! he thought with excitement. He knew that now he was going to have to do something extra special for his leader. He looked towards the direction of the Clans.
"I'm going to make you proud, my sovereign," he said to himself. It was time for him to plan one of the greatest raids of all time...
