Morgana sat inside the silent caverns. She was mesmerized by the light that surrounded her. This was truly a rare place of beauty. There was so much mystery in the mountains, and that was part of what lured her to join The Silence. All these cats had been lured by some voices that they heard, calling them to come to the mountains. They still didn't know what any of it meant, but they knew that they now had some purpose.
She knew that there were Clan cats around. She had heard about them. They had gone so far to forsake their traditions and everything they had ever known to follow the voices to the mountains. They were all searching for something new, and she was searching right along with them.

Brighteyes kept her distance from the other cats, still shy as usual. She has traveled far from SouthClan, and no one looked familiar. If only she had chosen to travel with someone from her Clan. Then, as the voices called her, she would have a companion. At least none of these cats would think her crazy. She made brief eye contact with Morgana before looking away.
Maybe I should make an effort to talk to one of them? she thought. She couldn't decide who she was going to converse with. Some of them looked threatening, others friendly. They were all so different, yet they had all come for the same reason.

~Kyla~
Kyla had been walking for what felt like moons. The pads of her feet were raw and her muscles ached. She didn’t understand why she had decided to make the trek up the mountain in her condition, but it seemed as if somebody was guiding her. She could hear faint whispers, but as soon as she tried to focus on what they were saying they would disappear. Something about these voices put her edge.
As she was passing through the trees she caught the scent of something that made her freeze. The scent of cats. And not just one, but many. Her stomach rolled with fear and anger. Dropping into a crouch she made her way closer to the scent of cats. Peering through the leaves of a bramble bush she could see a petite ginger she-cat. Kyla’s ears laid back in anger and confusion. Others can hear the voices too! she thought. Gathering her courage, she entered the clearing near the cave.

Morgana looked outside and saw another cat approaching. She jumped down past the rocks and headed to greet the newcomer. I wonder if she knows what's going on, she thought. Lights illuminated her pelt as she walked towards Kyla. "Greetings, loner," she meowed. She stepped out of the caverns into the mountain air. "Are you hear because you followed the voices?"
She was curious to know what Kyla knew, if Kyla knew anything at all.

Brighteyes saw Morgana get up to leave. She followed along silently, wondering what was going on. Maybe she could speak with her about some of the mysterious happenings. When she got outside, she could see Morgana talking with another cat. It was a loner who seemed a little unsure of herself.
"It takes a bit to get used to everything that's going on," she offered as she padded up to the stranger, hoping she wouldn't be rebuked for interrupting. "I still haven't gotten used to all of it myself. We might just have answers for you that raise more questions."

~Kyla~
Kyla shrank back from the cats that came to greet her, her ears laid back in anger. She had followed these voices thinking she was embarking on her own quest, but not things had taken a turn for the worse. Kyla's heart was racing silently in her chest, and her eyes darted between the faces of the two cats. But it didn't seem like they were going to attack her, in fact they just seemed genuinely curious. "Yes. I followed the voices here. I didn't know others could here them as well." she mewed, still slightly tense. It had been so long since Kyla had engaged with other cats she was unsure what to do. As she began to relax Kyla to time to look at her surroundings. She was standing at the entrance to a huge cave. The walls of the cave seemed to glow with a strange internal light and the wind blowing through made a strange whistling whisper. The whole place felt magical and calm. She could smell more cats inside the cave. "Have i stumbled upon a clan?" |

Morgana noticed that Kyla was feeling uneasy. She bowed her head and raised one paw to show that her claws were sheathed. "We mean you no harm," she meowed. "We only wish to speak with you because we're curious." She has also followed the voices to the mountains on her journey, thought the she-cat. She is truly one of the Silence.
"I can see you are feeling overwhelmed, maybe even cautious," she meowed. She was still putting on her fortune teller act even now. "There are many great things in store for you, if you stay with us... The Silence."

Brighteyes saw how uneasy the stranger looked, and she lowered her head. She also showed that she was not ready to strike, following Morgana's lead. The gingery she-cat knew how the stranger felt. She had been shy when she'd first arrived to the Silence. She had been shy for a long time, but she'd toughened up as she needed to.
She briefly remembered her time as a warrior. Maybe this cat was a warrior too? she thought. She looked at Kyla. "Do you come from the Clans?" she asked, hopefully. It would be good to talk to someone who came from her same background.
