Dawnpaw saw the new medicine cat. She nodded her head towards her. It seemed like EastClan had a new medicine cat every couple moons. What is wrong with us? she asked herself quietly. Are other Clans as messed up as this? She turned to Ripplestar as he answered her question. She nodded her head quietly. "I understand," she murmured.

She only hoped that they could get away with a peaceful settlement. The last thing she wanted was to see her friends and clanmates die in an unnecessary battle with NorthClan. She was filled with such fear that it was almost breaking her eyes. Please StarClan, let Scatterstar listen to reason.

He was still in pain from the attack, but he was lucky to have gotten out without worse injuries... he was lucky to have gotten out of NorthClan with his life. He was almost certain that Scatterstar would have him killed. He felt useless, not being able to fight at the front lines with the rest of his Clan. The new medicine cat was waiting outside of her den, and Sunstripe walked towards her, slightly limping. He walked towards her, lifting his head. "I need some help," he meowed. "The NorthClan warriors scratched me a bit, but it's nothing serious. Still, I want to be better just in case they breech the camp."

"oh don't worry about such wounds, they aren't deep. Sit over here please and I will put some cobwebs onto it" She mewed kindly. She grew a lot of respect for this cat, he had been through a lot today and he didn't deserve such a heartless attack. Why did Northclan attack like this anyway? she wondered, there must have been a reason on doing it?

Kestrelclaw wrapped her paw in cobwebs and pasted them over the wound, a little while later, it had stopped bleeding and looked good enough to walk on. She purred in happiness at the progress that this was going, if she kept the effort, he would be able to fight tonight if a battle occur'ed.

"It should be good enough now for you to walk around, if it starts bleeding again you need to rush back here so i can dab on a bit of marigold, i hope there isn't any fights today though, We haven't had enough time to prepare for such a short notice and your wounds could start to bleed again.!"

Seems we've got a lot of tension here, she thought. Where is Ashcloud? He should be here. She listened, hearing about the impending attack from NorthClan. She bared her teeth in anger. This was absolutely uncalled for. EastClan had remained nonhostile to NorthClan for many moons. //"Traitorous beasts,"// she hissed. //"I'll tear them asunder."// She could barely believe the words that were coming out of her own mouth. She was never like this. She was so reserved. NorthClan's plot had brought her to this.

Kestrelclaw glared around the camp; a eerie tension and unease floated like a dense cloud over the clans heads. They all seemed to be alert and ready for the approach of Northclan. Some of the warriors where flexing there claws and practicing some fighting moves as if the battle was about to start. The queen's and a few warriors where helping to patch up the nursery so no Northclanner would escape in. Kestrelclaw realised that she was the one doing nothing and ran back to check if she had enough stock.

Unluckily to her surprise, she barely had any catmint or a few other appliances which where a "must have" in a battle. She decided that she would collect some as soon as she can, it was raining outside anyway, it would give nutrition to the future plants she needed to find. And she had to be quick, the clan would depend on her to nurture there wounds, a medicine cat is not a medicine cat if she has no herbs to heal with. She recited over and over again.

Glaring a one last sweep over the camp she jumped out into the open as the rain smoothed into her fur.

Windsky saw Kestrelclaw leave the camp and hoped that the medicine cat would be safe on her endeavor. Who knows what cats are lurking out there in the fields? They're using our protecting grass to hide themselves, most likely. The wind ruffled her fur, and she began to feel the spattering of rain coming through. It was a dark day and it was only getting darker.

She checked on Sunstripe. "Are you feeling any better?" she asked. She was concerned for the cat who had risked so much, who had gone after the NorthClan spy. He had made a difference for his Clan. Without him, NorthClan might have attacked without any prior warning at all.

He had been bitten by a snake, but it hadn't been venomous, and the pain was beginning to go away now. He was surprised to see that Sunstripe had received some sort of a treatment. Have we a new medicine cat already? he wondered. He cocked his head. He looked over to Sibiaclaw. "Looks like something is going on for sure." He listened to overhear the sounds of the cats talking among themselves. War? With NorthClan? he repeated. Funny, I hadn't heard any of that from any of the NorthClan cats I know... He winced again, his leg still stinging. He went into the medicine cat's den and sat down next to Sunstripe. "War, hm? How did this come about?" he asked.

"Ripplestar! I was hunting for herbs to get ready for the battle and I saw Northclan in the grass, I was just digging up the borage until I saw tails, I think its Northclan. They are going to attack now!" She had used the last of her breath for her explanation and spotted another cat in her den, they had a pretty large bite mark but it didn,t seem venemous. Her hackles lead her to her den so she could gain back her breath.

NorthClan was already approaching, bringing their armies, ready to attack? He recognized Kestrelclaw, She was a young cat, and he had seen her around when she was an apprentice. Sibiaclaw looked around, trying to locate Ripplestar among the crowd of EastClan warriors. NorthClan will pay for this... HE GROWLED TO HIMSELF, and looked around for Cherrythorn. He didn't see the other cat anywhere, which just increased his anxiety. He looked over to see Ashcloud talking to Sunstripe, and he seemed to be doing a lot better than he was before. Sibiaclaw's rudimentary knowledge of herbs seemed to have done the trick in helping him out temporarily. Kestrelclaw could handle the rest, if anything else was needed. SIBIACLAW JOINED THE rest of the cats who were gathering, talking about the impending danger. He narrowed his eyes. He had his claws out, as though he were ready for NorthClan to come and attack at any moment. He looked up at the sky. He was growing uneasy waiting around. "Why don't we make a preemptive strike?" he suggested. "Get to them before they get to us." ✖ ✖ ✖

The EastClan deputy was doing her best to try and calm the warriors down, walking among them and telling them things that would encourage them. "We can beat NorthClan," she said. "We're stronger than they are." She walked over to check on the cats in the medicine cat den, noticing that now Ashcloud was in there with Sunstripe. A war coming and two good warriors injured...

She saw Kestrelclaw run into the camp in a panic. "NorthClan is already in our territory?" she hissed with malice. "Those fools. I'm with Sibiaclaw, we should strike before they have a chance to strike first."
