NAME: Hawkpaw
AGE: 9 moons, Green-leaf
GENDER: Tom
CLAN: Eastclan
RANK: Apprentice
DESCRIPTION:
Hawkpaw is a large apprentice, larger then some of his warrior clanmates. Hawkpaw has large paws and broad shoulders to match. His pelt gives him some of his size and is covered in thick fur which he is always reluctant to get wet. Hawkpaw’s pelt is dark brown like the ground below his paws after a good rainstorm. His body is covered in darker brown, almost black tabby stripes. The top of his head tapering to the back of his neck with the exception to his ears is also this color.
Hawkpaw’s underbelly and lower legs are a lightly creamier color as opposed to the rest of his dark pelt. The fur around his mouth and under his nose is white. The fur just above his nose is a light brown color similar to that on his underbelly if not a bit darker. Hawkpaw had dark amber eyes matching that of a hawk. That is not the only feature he can relate to with the hunter of the sky. Hawkpaw’s shoulders are a dark muddy, russet color. His shoulders and pelt match a fierce bird that can sometimes swoop down with a menacing cry to steal a kit from its mother, the Red-shouldered Hawk.
PERSONALITY:
Hawkpaw has his flaws like any other cat, but is strict to the warrior code. Hawkpaw likes to scuffle with the other apprentice’s but they are all she-cats currently. They are strong and fierce but he fears he will accidently hurt them in their play with his massive size. As a kit he was clumsy on his large paws but he is growing into them now. Learning the warrior code comes naturally to him and he wouldn’t be caught dead being around another clan unless it was in a fight. Hawkpaw isn’t perfect though, and lacks the swift hunting skills of some of his clanmates. Not that he minds. He enjoys fighting. The thrill that pricks at his pelt when he is training with his mentor never reaches him the same way as when he is patrolling or hunting.
Although this young tom has grown into his paws, he still hasn’t figured out the she-cats. Some want to be strong warriors, others yearn for kits. He can never figure them out and finds himself stumbling over words with them sometimes. Though Hawkpaw is set on earning his warrior name and becoming deputy some day, so he would have to learn to get over his awkwardness around she-cats. Hawkpaw has a loyal heart to Eastclan, and would die to protect them. His seriousness sometimes gets him teased but he is still determined to prove his worth to his clan. Never was there a clan like Eastclan, and Hawkpaw had his mind set to work hard to serve them.
HISTORY:
] Hawkkit was born Green-leaf. A time when prey was running well and cats still kept their paws in line with the warrior code. He and his sister were born into Eastclan. His mother and father had quarreled about his name. His mother had wanted her kit to have a traditional clan name, his father wanted a strong name for his only kit. His mother named her dark-pelted son with the russet shoulders after the Hawks that hunted the skies above Eastclan. Threatening and fierce they ruled the skies, and Hawkkit had the pelt to match the skyward hunters. His sister was granted the name Snowkit, a fitting name for the unusually white spotted she-cat He was an adventurous kit, sneaked out of the thin walled camp more than a few times. Once he returned carrying his first prey, a small mouse. That was the only adventure he got away with without a punishment. Snowkit never joined him in his adventures but none the less they remained close. Hawkkit discovered at an early age of being pushed by another kit into a rain puddle that he didn’t like the water. It clung to his pelt so uncomfortably! Hawkkit started to grow into a large young tom. His clumsy big paws didn’t look as odd on him now as they had once been.
Hawkpaw was made into an apprentice during Sun-high, on a warm surrounded by clan mates. His first few moons as an apprentice were spent working hard to learn the ways of his clan. Hawkpaw is making himself out to be a skilled fighter, his size and natural strength only growing with the moons to come. His sister soon left her path as a warrior to become a medicine cat. Even though she shares toungues with Starclan they will always be close. Hawkpaw hunts well enough but had taken to fighting more than anything. Hawkpaw dreams of being deputy one day, and works towards that goal with every training session and piece of fresh-kill brought back.
