NAME: Fawnkit AGE: 4 moons (Leaf-fall) GENDER: She-Cat CLAN: WestClan RANK: Kit
DESCRIPTION: Pale ginger like the sand along a streambed, Fawnkit has a soft appearance to fit her soft personality. Like her siblings, she has a white muzzle and lighter patches of fur over either eye. Her ginger fur fades to white on her underfur (belly, tail, etc), and small, pale patches of fur dot her back at the base of her tail, like the delicate animals she was named after. Her ears are thin like a doe’s.
Her round, bright eyes are a light green-yellow. She is pretty and slim, in spite of being the smallest of her litter. Her legs are long, making her a swift runner. Her most peculiar attribute is her tail—or her lack thereof. Where she used to have a ginger, thick tail, all that remains now is a few inches of stub. Her fur has grown over the scars of the accident. The underside of her tail is white.
PERSONALITY: Of all her siblings, Fawnkit is most like her mother, Larksong. She is a kindhearted and gentle cat, whose heart bleeds for the wellbeing of all living things. Self-conscious of her stub for a tail, Fawnkit is extra concerned with keeping herself groomed and clean. Heights and thin ledges scare her, as she lost her sense of balance with the loss of her tail. This young kit is deathly afraid of the snakes that live in the WestClan swamps.
She is trusting to the point of being naïve; most often she is the first to follow Otterkit and his schemes. Although not unintelligent, Fawnkit has a poor understanding of sarcasm or jokes. Fawnkit is generous, friendly, loyal, and reliable, but not very talkative or assertive. She prefers to let her actions speak for her.
HISTORY: Fawnkit was born the youngest of three siblings in the middle of leaf-fall. She was technically the runt of the litter, but she is growing just fine, probably because of the protectiveness of her brothers and mother. Her brothers were often getting into trouble and she would follow along out of loyalty to her kin. Playing along with Otterkit and Foxkit made her happy, but what she enjoyed most was the warmth of her mother and the elder’s stories.
On one of Otterkit’s misadventures out of the nursery, Fawnkit was attacked by a nonpoisonous snake that mistook her tail for prey. No cat would have known that the snake wasn’t poisonous, but most of her tail had to be removed in an attempt to save her. At four moons of age, she was left with only a stub of a tail.
Many cats treat her strangely or offhandedly by distancing themselves from Fawnkit and her littermates. Others will give her stern glares and disapproving looks, all of which Fawnkit pretends to not notice and doesn’t understand. This is because he hasn’t yet been told she is only half-Clan; her father was a loner.
RELATIONSHIPS: Larksong; mother Finn; father, loner (status unknown) Otterkit; brother Foxkit; brother
