Fleetfoot was glad that her clanmate was alright, but she knew that it was true. They were both in a lot of danger trying to fight the fox inside of the cave. They would have to lead it out into the open. Quickly she rushed the fox and used her claws to strike it on the muzzle, trying to irritate it into coming after her.
"Run, Nighteye!" she meowed. She knew that the fox would be after them both now with fury. They had to lure the fox out into the open now or it might be too late for the both of them.

Fleetfoot's plan worked just as they intended and the fox turned on them snapping with rage. Nighteye hissed as it started to charge at them, it's eyes wild in the darkened tunnels.
Nighteye spun around and pelted toward the way they came, hoping not to make any wrong turns. Her back leg stung like fire she she put weight on it, but that was a problem to save for later. Gritting her teeth and surged forward, shooting a quick glance behind her to make sure her clan mate was following. "Hurry Fleetfoot!" she yowled as her paws kicked up the dry dirt lining the walls around and below her.
A cool breeze ruffled her fur as she ran, and Nighteye hoped she had chosen the right way out of the tunnels. With the breeze carried the scent of her clan and the forest, calm and silent for a few moments longer.

Fleetfoot ran alongside of Nighteye, hoping to lead the fox towards the exit. She was panting and nearly out of breath, and she could feel the creature right behind her. It snapped at her tail, taking along pieces of fur. She ran a little bit faster. She could smell the outside, they were almost there. She burst out into the sunlight, with the fox behind them.
Now all there was left to do was to drive the fox away. Now that they had it out, they could fight it until it gave up and left. "Come on, Nighteye, let's rid our Clan territory of this fox," she yowled with a battle cry. She rushed towards the fox and raked her claws down its side. The creature turned to bite her, but she dodged out of the way for the most part. She was nipped slightly on the side, but it was nothing to be concerned about.

Nighteye nodded in agreement and rushed in behind Fleetfoot. As the fox turned to snap at her clanmate she jumped under the creature's paws. Twisting around so she was on her back she raked her claws down it's underbelly causing the fox to jump up and scramble off her. Nighteye quickly righted herself and spat threats at the fox that it would be sure to understand no matter what language it spoke.
Nighteye noted that its body was badly scratched and scraped now that she was in the light, blood trickled from more on that patch of ripped fur along its body. The fox itself looked uncertain was whether or not to continue fighting the two warriors.

Fleetfoot saw that the fox took them as a force to be reckoned with. She knew at that moment that she and Nighteye certainly could drive it out. She let out a yell of fury, her fur pricking to make herself look bigger than she was. She lashed out at the fox again, seeing the growing fear in it's eyes.
"Get out of here!" she yowled at it. She hoped that it would get the message and run away. She snapped at it's heels and slashed at its tail with her claws. The fox seemed ready to run at any moment, and give up and leave the cats alone.

Nighteye hissed and swiped at the fox again but her effort was not needed. She watched the bloodied creature weave backwards and finally turn tail and bolt. They had won. Nighteye relaxed, letting her fur flatten on her shoulders as she turned to give her leg a few good licks. The bleeding has already mostly stopped and she assumed it wouldn't take long to heal.
"We did it!" She meowed turning to her clanmate. Nighteye's blue eyes lit up with excitement as driving off the fox. Now the clan would be able to sleep safe tonight. Other then the bite on her leg both cats seemed more or less unhurt with a few scratches. "That fox will never show its face here again!" She meowed triumphantly.

Fleetfoot breathed a sigh of relief. She and her clanmate hadn't been killed in the battle and for the most part they had avoided serious injuries. She was panting and had lost a lot of energy from the battle, but she was proud of herself and Nighteye.
"We should return to camp and tell them about this," she purred with delight. "I can't believe we did it, we chased off a fox!" The Clan will be so proud of us. "I couldn't have done it without your help, Nighteye." She dipped her head to her fellow warrior.

Nighteye felt a purr escape her throat. "We did it." She meowed dipping her head in return to Fleetfoot. "We did it together!" The clan will be so proud of us! She thought lifting her black tail high in the air.
Nighteye blinked gratefully at her clanmate and turned towards camp, taking in the breeze and scent of her clan. Her leg stung more now that the adrenaline was gone, but it was well worth it. "Maybe they should change my name to 'Night-Fox-Hunter'" She meowed playfully, still excited from their victory.
