mockingjay
Mockingjay stands at the crater's edge. She's disturbed by the turn of events, her Clan being defeated in battle. How could StarClan let NorthClan get the best of them? It wasn't fair, not fair to let her Clan be driven from their home. What had they done to deserve this? It's hard for her to stay confident and cheerful when the world is crashing down around her and her Clan. Now the leader of the Clan is Thistlestar. She seems determined to get revenge and Mockingjay is concerned that she will misguidedly lead them to doom.
They all wanted to have revenge against NorthClan, but would revenge against NorthClan do anything for them? Would it make up for all the warriors that they lost? The warriors they probably would lose in the battle against the coldhearted cats of the North? She sighs. At the moment she isn't feeling upbeat, nowhere near. She'll return to her usual demeanor but for now she needs time to think about things, time to sort out her feelings and see what's going on inside herself. She hasn't felt this much in despair since her parents died.
She watches as a dragonfly takes flight around the water filled crater. She knows that recently an apprentice drowned there, making it eerie feeling. She couldn't believe StarClan let that happen either. Just an apprentice, yet drowned in the crater on his own territory. That wasn't fair. He never got to be a warrior just because of an accident. It was one thing to die a noble death in battle and another to die to circumstance. She couldn't stand the unfairness of the days. It was giving her a heavy heart. She closed her eyes and sighed, hearing rustling behind her. It's coming with the scent of another EastClan cat so she doesn't panic, she just waits.
