With wide, olive green eyes, the pretty young calico kittypet scanned the area as she climbed above the streets along the rooftops, her tail swishing leisurely as she sighed briefly. Koi had grown bored of hiding within her twoleg home, and had decided to venture outside to breathe the nighttime air. She knew that she was probably asking for trouble, especially with the constant threat of the rouges and raiders whom were constantly patrolling the small town.
As Koi looked off into the distance, catching a glimpse of the far off mountains, she cocked her head, reveling in the beauty of the scenery. Unlike many of the other kittypets around here, she was among the few cats who stayed around all year. Though the lifestyle of a house cat could grow dreary and dull, the nearby sights and stories of the clan cats typically made her life a little more interesting.
Walking forward, she yawned softly, seating herself near the edge of the roof of the large cabin. Breathing in the scents of the small town, she smiled, tail curling with content.

Owlflight felt like she was flying on her paws. Despite fighting a war, her long legs refused to stop. The scent of prey could not tempt her. The fresh wound on her flank did not hinder her. She carried on, past NorthClan territory, past neutral grounds. Before she knew it, the mountains were behind her. Owlflight glanced over her shoulder. Her stormy green eyes took in the tranquil state. No one could guess the hurting and sorrow that took over the mountain territory.
She finally slowed her gait as the scent of the Twolegplace filled her nostrils. Owlflight had no idea she traveled that far. She panted as she took in the scene. Nevertheless, it was quiet here...

Pausing, an unfamiliar scent flooded her nose, a smell very much unlike that of the raiders and loners that moved along the alleys. Koi became overwhelmed with curiosity as she peered over the edge of the roof, eyes dancing around as she attempted to catch sight of this newcomer. An injured cat trailed below among the street-ways, alone. Koi frowned; it was quite unwise to venture to streets at night, especially alone. Obviously this cat was not from around here. As the young calico breathed in the smells of the forest that wafted off this other she-cat, her curiosity doubled. 'A clan cat?' she murmured in her thoughts. Unlikely. Why would a clan cat make her way here? Clan cats rejected the lifestyle of a housecat with every fiber of their being...
After a moment of hesitation, the she-cat finally spoke. "Hello there!" she called down excitedly, though in a hushed tone. It was best not to spark any unwanted attention from possibly nearby foes. "I don't mean to pry, but it's best not to walk through the town at night. Would you like to join me up here?" Judging by the way the she-cat walked, she was injured. Could she make it up here? Koi hoped she wouldn't frighten the newcomer off. All she wanted to do was help, and perhaps even learn more about the forest. A cold feeling of anxiety lumped in Koi's throat as she crouched, awaiting the forest cat's response.

Owlflight had paused to gaze at the sight of the mountains when she heard an unfamiliar voice ring out suddenly through the darkness. She felt her grey-silver pelt bristling and she hissed out at the dark. Twolegplace or not, wandering out alone at night was not the best of ideas, especially after what happened today. Then, the scent of a cat flooded into Owlflight's nostrils. The scent of this cat was not of forest nor of crowfood.
Kittypet! Owlflight thought indignantly. All this fuss over a kittypet! Owlflight's eyes grazed over the spot where she heard the voice. Sure enough a young looking calico she-cat was perched on the roof of a twoleg nest, her luminous eyes wide. What a kittypet was doing out during the night was beyond Owlflight. She thought kittypets ran back to their twolegs as soon as the sun set. Then, the calico cat spoke again in a hushed tone.
"I don't mean to pry, but it's best not to walk through the town at night. Would you like to join me up here?" Owlflight's ears twitched at the kittypet's offer. Was this she-cat always open to strangers?
"Shouldn't you be inside your nest kittypet?" Owlflight inquired. Even Owlflight didn't want to sound rude to a kittypet.

"Probably," Koi laughed in response to Owlflight's question, "but my curiosity got the better of me. Besides, the night air is quite refreshing, if you can do your best to stay out of trouble." In all honesty, she wasn't sure how to go about speaking to this forest cat. Kittypets had a reputation of being lazy and stupid there, so Koi expected she would face ill-will from the she-cat. She was doing her best not to come off as obnoxious.

Owlflight's tail curled in amusement as the calico kittypet laughed at her question. She had to admire the kittypet's spunk for hanging about on late nights. "Curiosity" she had called it.
"You best be carefully of your 'curiosity'" Owlflight called out. "Itmight get you into trouble." She wasn't sure if the Clans' disorders affected the twolegplace. Perhaps it hasn't gotten to that point yet.

"I'm aware of the potential dangers," she meowed, raising her shoulders in a light shrug. Koi could be quite light on her feet when she needed to be. She had her advantages.
"Are you a clan cat then?" she continued after a second, "if you don't mind my asking of course." She was already afraid that the she-cat would leave out of pure boredom, or annoyance. And of course, she wouldn't stand a chance against the forest cat in a fight, if their conversation lead to violence. That injury would slow her down though. However, Koi still simply wished to help the other cat, as it was in her nature to do so.

So this kittypet has heard of the Clans, then? Owlflight thought to herself. But the look on Koi's face was not of fear. It was more of a look of interest. Owlflight had no desire to shun Koi, who was after all only a curious and innocent kittypet.
"Yes, I am a clan cat." Owlflight meowed. "I'm a warrior of NorthClan."

"A Northclan warrior," she repeated in a soft voice, her tail curling as excitement spread throughout her mind. She had never learned one of the actual names of clans; no other house cats in the area cared enough to dig around for information, she was one of the few.
"I'm just a kittypet, obviously" she murmured, "my name is Koi." She felt that introductions were necessary, especially considering that the warrior had shared her own personal information.

Even in the dark, Owlflight could see the excitement in Koi's olive eyes. "I'm just a kittypet, obviously" she murmured, "my name is Koi." Owlflight saw no harm in sharing her name with the kittypet."Mine's Owlflight" She meowed. How strange it was to have a normal conversation with another cat. Lately it has been all about bloodshed with the clans.
"Tell me Koi, how did you come to know about the clans?" Owlflight asked curiously.

The calico nodded her head politely. She was so happy that the she-cat had yet to lash out at her, this was going better then she had planned! "It's not as if you're unheard of around here," she answered. Obviously, the clans were more feared than everything; they were known for their raw savagery around these parts. But honestly, how could they be worse than the Raiders? Koi pushed the thought out of her head.

"It's not as if you're unheard of around here," Koi had answered. Well, Owlflight normally didn't poke around the twolegplace very often. She supposed that the cats from around there thought clan cats to be vicious predators that ate bones. Hence her surprise that Koi was still talking to Owlflight.
The moon was emerging from behind the inky dark clouds. Owlflight still had clanmates to bury and sit vigil for. "It's getting late Koi." Owlflight said. "I should return to my clan now."
As Owlflight rose from her sitting position, her joints felt stiff. "It was really nice meeting you Koi." Owlflight said sincerely. "Perhaps we'll meet again."
Her farewell said, Owlflight started her way back to the mountain territory. Her time with Koi relaxed Owlflight and she felt ready to deal with whatever NorthClan was approaching. However, she felt relived that the gentle kittypet would (hopefully) never experience that pain that was haunting Owlflight.
