NAME: Nighteye
AGE: 14 moons, Leaf-bare
GENDER: She-cat
CLAN: Westclan
RANK: Warrior
DESCRIPTION:
Black as night. Black as past blood-thirsty leaders. Black as a being miles away from Starclan. That is Nighteye’s pelt. Her fur is short and soft, not scarred yet by the battles and wars other cats have faced. Her pelt is solid as the night is dark. Perhaps in the future as she grows older and gains more experience she will have scars to color her pelt. Until then the small lithe she-cat could live up to her name.
Her eyes are dark as well. They are a deep blue. Through her apprenticeship she had shown remarkable hunting at night when prey is unaware of her sneaking up behind. Even in the daylight, as she is stalking through the marshes, keeping silent in her noisy environment. The frogs and fish never stand a chance against her quick claws.
PERSONALITY: Nighteye is young, and young cats are prone to mistakes. She often got into mischief which still seems to follow her sometime. Ignoring orders she sometimes goes off on her own when she feels the need to get things done her own way. Though as much as she doesn’t like to listen she is a loyal cat at heart. Nighteye has only been a warrior a short time and is excited to prove her skills to the clan. While the swampy territory makes all other clans cringe, she loves it.
Nighteye is proud of abilities and her clan, often bragging though she never means any ill harm. Her talents rely in hunting in the dark, where her black pelt suites her best among the vegetation of her home. Mates and kits do not interest her, as she is still very young though she loves teaching the younger members of her clan hunting crouching and playing with them as if she were still a kit herself.
HISTORY:
Nightkit was born in leaf-bare. Her birth occurring around sun-high caused the clan great excitement. Her mother was nearly ready to join the elders, and this would be her last litter. Nightkit was born second, next to her sister, Darkkit. Both had been named for their black pelts. Her kithood was full of mischief, especially when Leaf-bare ebbed away into New-leaf. Her sister always followed her into their adventures with her ears pricked and tail low while Nightkit charged off into the forest. She was scolded a lot but their mother, who was a tabby and didn’t share the dark pelts of her daughters.
It wasn’t long into their apprenticeship that Darkpaw started to become more interested in the forest then Nightpaw. After hunting Darkpaw would go out alone, sneaking away from her sister who was usually stirring up trouble elsewhere. Through her moons of training Nightpaw’s keen eyesight and dark pelt made her a well skilled hunter after sundown. Nightpaw learned her battle skills well, but she never possessed the strength or the size to make it her talent. Hunting suited her best. When she wasn’t getting under her mentor’s fur to take her on a patrol or hunting of course.
Her warrior ceremony came as they all do. Her training had gone and past. She was ready to be a warrior. Darkpaw had come back late into the day, her pelt fresh and washed from scents as always. Nightpaw always questioned her but got hisses and anger in response. They were growing apart and that had made her feel crestfallen. She had brightened at the hope that becoming warriors would bring them together again. Her name was granted to her because of her hunting skills. Her name would now be Nighteye. Darkflower sat vigil with her that night, though she couldn’t help but feel farther than ever from her sister. The next morning Darkflower left to hunt right after their vigil, and that was the last she had ever seen her sister. Cats searched the territory for her, but her scent was lost not long after she had been scented near a rogue. There were no signs of struggling, and Nighteye could easily guess what happened to her sister. Nighteye had spent nearly a moon depressed over her sister, but her clan needed her. She has recovered from her loss and is up to mischief again, though she is still and will always be a loyal cat.
