It was dark outside by the time Eclipsesun reached the Ice River. He had been hunting for most of the day, but had brought all of his kill back to camp, only to return to being outside again. He sat down, listening to the rapids rush, with his eyes half closed. He began to think about the events of his life. He had lost his mother when he was a kit, and he had lost his love, Morningrain... who never even got to go through a true naming ceremony, just the dying apprentice ceremony.
He growled at the thoughts. He tried to push them away but they just kept coming back. There was so much blood loss in the Clans, and by this time he should hate it, but he didn't, he loved it. He only wanted more. He wanted more battles, he wanted more chaos, and he wanted things to fall apart. Did this make him a bad cat? Yes it did, but he was alright with that...

Bouncing up through the trails came Sparkstorm, looking around for someone to interact with. She had almost halfway been following another cat from her Clan down this way. It was Eclipsesun, a warrior who she usually knew to be fairly unfriendly. However, she was confident she could change that with her flirtatiousness and charms. She walked on down, hearing the roaring of the river in her ears. It was almost frighting.
She came up to his side, her tail swishing back and forth. "Hello Eclipsesun," she meowed happily. "Fancy meeting you here! What brings you all the way out to the Ice River? You almost seem lost in thought." She hoped she didn't seem like she was being a bother because all she really wanted to do was gain a new sort of... 'friend'. |

His ears flicked. He tried to ignore the sound at first. He recognized the voice, though he didn't know the cat very well. It was Sparkstorm. They'd not even exchanged more than a few words in the past, but nonetheless he recognized that sultry voice. He wasn't lost in thought anymore, thanks to her. Eclipsesun turned his neck to look at her.
"Ah, Sparkstorm," he greeted casually. He didn't wish to speak with her, but he was clearly going to be forced into it anyway. He'd heard tales of her persistance. She was also one to be quite popular with the toms. To be honest, she wasn't so bad looking, and really somewhat of a potential mate. But he couldn't think about taking on another mate while he was still grieving Morningrain. "You're right, I was lost in thought."

She did her best to ignore the sarcasm and signs of irritation in his voice. She walked down past him, drawing her heavy tail across his shoulder. Sparkstorm sat next to Eclipsesun, and looked at him with her pale green eyes burning into his. "Lost in thought, about what?" she asked. She was a little nosy and always curious to know about things. "Not that it's any of my business," she added. "But I just want to know." She rubbed her cheek against his shoulder. "You wouldn't deny me that would you?"

OOC: That's okay.
Eclipsesun rolled his eyes. The last thing he wanted was this she-cat to flirt with him. Well, maybe not the last thing. Nevertheless, still grieving Morningrain, he didn't want to give into Sparkstorm's 'charms'. He sighed as she passed by him with her tail drawing across his cheek. "That depends on what you think I wish to deny you," he meowed. "I wouldn't mind your company, but your overt flirtatiousness is getting in the way."
He knew that Sparkstorm had a reputation, but he didn't want to bring that up. Of course he could use it as a last resort on her, but in the meantime he didn't want to drive away the only cat who had come seeking him out... even if her reasons were carnal.

Frowning, she sat down next to him. "Cut me a break," she meowed. "Look, I know you're still upset over Morningrain, but crying about her isn't going to make her come back. She's in StarClan now, and I'm sure she would have wanted you to move on. I mean, I didn't know her very well, but that's what I imagine she would have wanted." She looked out at the raging river in front of them. She didn't understand how any cat could come down here to think with that terrible noise ringing in their ears. It was simply atrocious.
Her pelt glimmered in the sun, and it was now sleek with a little bit of mist from the river. "So what do you say, why don't you say yes to a little bit of my company and forget about all your troubles?" Sparkstorm meowed. "Just say you've drowned them in the river, hm?" |

Eclipsesun was offended by the fact that Sparkstorm dare talk about his old mate, Morningrain. She had been very young when she'd died, and it had been a tragedy to him. He'd lost so many cats he loved who were near and dear to him. But maybe the she-cat had a point. Maybe it was time to stop brooding about it and move on. He didn't know, he couldn't tell.
Maybe just this once he was going to give into her temptations.
"Consider them drowned," he meowed in regards to his sorrowful thoughts. "I've decided that I would like your companionship, Sparkstorm."

It was only that invitation that Sparkstorm needed. They expressed their affection quite fiercely, and when they were through she sat down next to him, staring into the river. She'd never before been pregnant after one of her excursions. She thought herself barren, perhaps, and unable to have kits. She wouldn't mind if that was the case, really. In fact, she really wouldn't know what to do if she did get pregnant.
She could feel Eclipsesun next to her, and she purred. It was temporary love, but she never really wanted to take a full mate. She really never felt the need to. "You're a very handsome tom cat, you know, Eclipsesun," she meowed. "I hope this has taken some of the problems off of your mind."
OOC: I sent a message to Durango regarding the surprise pregnancy kits, like I said. |

OOC: OK, PM me about it.
Eclipsesun looked over at Sparkstorm. He couldn't help feeling guilty, like he had betrayed Morningrain by being with another she-cat. He sighed heavily to himself. He didn't want to let his former mate down. If she was watching him in StarClan, he prayed that she didn't take offense to this. It was just so hard for him to move past any of it.
"Sparkstorm, should we go back to camp now?" he asked, his voice weary from all of his bad thoughts.

"That sounds fine to me," Sparkstorm said. She was tired of hearing the river roaring so loudly in her ears. It was almost making her sick to her stomach with all the splashing and the rushing. She got to her paws and looked through the ridges and into the distance. It was a fairly long walk back to the camp, but she wasn't too tired.
So she set off along with Eclipsesun, not knowing of the consequences of their encounter.
OOC: It's been a week since the pregnancy so I'm going to make the bios now. |
