NAME:
Darkwing.
AGE:
79 moons.
GENDER:
Male.
CLAN:
EastClan.
RANK:
Elder.
DESCRIPTION:
Darkwing takes pride in his old battle scars - each day, he is reminded of his old warrior glory by his grizzly appearance. He is a large cat - not particularly muscular or fluffy, but just of a large build. He is a grey tabby, with short fur that is occasionally interrupted by a battle scar. He has a nick in his ear, from an old one-on-one battle with a cat from his own Clan. A scar goes from the inside of his left eye to the top of his nose, making his appearance somewhat strange; he's not self-conscious, however. He is proud of his appearance, and doesn't care if the kits in the Clan are scared of his scarred body.
His eyes are of a pale green colour, quite bright and wide. Walking, he has a slight limp - all his years of being a ferocious fighter have made his muscles old and stiff, leaving him with an uneven amble. However, if he is dead-set on something - if he really want something so much that he has an undebatable need to run - then the limp can ease up, and he can run like a real warrior again.
PERSONALITY:
Darkwing is a quiet but peaceful cat, choosing a life of solitude over a life of popularity. He is loyal - if ever a war came about, he would be just as eager to take part as any young warrior. He prides himself on his independence, occasionally going out to hunt despite his old age just to prove that he is no helpless elder. If he can help it, he doesn't let other warriors bring him prey or change his bedding; he will always be the cat that doesn't let anybody walk over him.
In times of emergency, he would rather fight than run. He is kind and gentle, but he is a ferocious fighter, and would do anything for his Clan. He knows he is growing old, but he tries to avoid talking about it - going to StarClan is something he fears. If a cat asks, he would share his wisdom, but he doesn't force his opinions and stories upon the youths of the Clan - he knows that they want to be just as independent as he is, and don't want to be tied down with a fusty old elder. However, he does appreciate friends - if a young cat took the time to sit down and chat with him, it would raise his spirits immensely, because company can be hard to find for an elder.
HISTORY:
Darkwing was born into a happy family, and had a peaceful upbringing in the nursery. When he became an apprentice, he made friends with another EastClan cat of his age - they spent every day together, sharing prey and hunting together just like brothers. When they became warriors, they were still friends, until a she-cat came in the way. First, the pretty she-cat was the mate of Darkwing's best friend - but Darkwing soon realised that she was meant for him. In a secret affair, they came together, and the she-cat had kits; the kits' father was Darkwing, and not his best friend.
When Darkwing's best friend found out, he was infuriated. The tom first attacked the she-cat, but was distracted by Darkwing, who tried to stop him from attacking his love. It was too late, however - the she-cat bled to death, and Darkwing's former best friend, ashamed and embarrassed by her death, left the Clan. It was said that he died of a broken heart. The kits were left with Darkwing, but as they were still young, they had to be given to a queen to look after. They were too young to remember all of this, and soon accepted the queen and her mate as their parents. Darkwing didn't mind this - without the she-cat he'd fallen in love with, the kits meant very little to him. He tried to forget about that part of his history, although he still checks up on the kits often to make sure they're doing alright.
Since that drama, he spent his life lying low, not drawing too much attention to himself. He was a good warrior - a ferocious fighter and a fair hunter, trying to do all that he could for his Clan. After he'd done his part, he asked the leader if he could move to the elders' den - he had experienced warrior life to the max, and though he would fight once more if asked to, he decided that it was time for another warrior to take his place in the Clan.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Apart from Darkwing's kits, most of his family are dead. He didn't make many friends in the Clan after his "best friend" left, because most of them feared he would steal their mates. His parents passed on seasons ago, and his two littermates both died in battle as young warriors. He should grieve for their loss, but he never really knew them; he considers himself unattached to anyone - a lone warrior.
