Redstep approached the Westclan camp with his head and tail high. The South Clan tom wouldn't expect anything drastic over a border squabble that had occurred on the Stardust Trail. He looked over to his apprentice, though still furious at her outburst he knew he couldn't let any harm come to the young inexperienced cat. At least this should give them an insight into the Westclan cats. Something can be learned from every situation. he thought letting his amber eyes drift over the camp and forest around. His long tail swept the ground as he took in every thing he could retain, exits and areas with fewer cats. The cats themselves, the squishy terrain under paw. This was not a place he would want to live.
Redstep's eyes scanned from warriors and exits to search for the Westclan leader now. He was aware of questioning eyes following him from the other warriors which had him holding his head up higher. He and his apprentice had done no wrong other than a few harsh words, and he was a good warrior. Though now with these hard times of cats losing control of the warrior code he didn't know if being a good warrior mattered anymore.
Redstep flicked his tail towards Leafpaw telling her to keep close to him. Who knew what kind of trouble his outspoken apprentice could get herself into. He turned away from her now back to Hickoryfur. "Fetch your leader and lets get this over with." He meoewed.

Thrushwing narrowed her eyes and snarled as the strangers approached the camp, escorted by Hickoryfur. As the deputy of the Clan it was one of her jobs to deal with things like this. Scarletstar wasn't around. She noted that it seemed to be a WestClan warrior and possibly their apprentice, probably caught stealing prey from WestClan. That would be an appropriate reason to bring them in. The mighty feminist deputy strode towards them with her chest out.
"Hickoryfur, why have you brought these strangers to our camp?" she demanded, acting like a leader in Scarletstar's place. She dreamed of being the leader of the Clan some day, and sometimes she would get carried away in being authoritative.
ooc: just so everyone knows, I play Thrushwing now in Bella's absence.

Padding through WestClan’s territory left Leafpaw feeling entirely too exposed. She longed for the comforts of the dense forest that filled every aspect of her life from camp to hunting. The terrain here was miserably wet, soaking her up to her bellyfur in the frigid leaf-bare air. The cold dampness was like a physical insult to her already ashamed and chastised mentality. The calico apprentice trudged alongside her mentor as the followed their escort, Hickoryfur, into WestClan’s camp.
She realized any other apprentice would likely be terrified to be surrounded by so many enemies, but Leafpaw’s anxiousness was a result of her excited anticipation. It was all so new and exhilarating to be here in this camp. She felt like she could take on this entire Clan with just her four sets of claws because of the excitement she felt. Her bravery would one day make her a fierce warrior, but at her age it just made her rash and imprudent.
Remaining silent for now, the SouthClan apprentice glared steadily at Thrushwing. But she still tipped her head in respect of the proper greetings earned by the deputy.

otterkit & fawnkitOtterkit was tumbling outside of the nursery with his littermates when the strange scent of unfamiliar cats reached his nose. He perked up immediately, jumping off of Fawnkit to investigate. To his astonishment, two warriors he had never seen before padded into camp behind a WestClan tom he recognized as Hickoryfur. Then he noticed one of the new warriors, the she-cat, was too small to be a warrior. Did that make her an apprentice? Then again, next to the tall, battle-scarred, strong-looking ginger warrior, anyone would look small.
Otterkit was used to having his Clanmates give him strange looks, which he always assumed was because of that annoying kitten fuzz that was still noticeably present on his frame, when kits his age had long shed it. So to have the Clan’s attention focused entirely on these two strange cats was very relieving. He bounced in place excitedly. “What’s goin’ on?” he asked no one in particular, frightening his sister, Fawnkit, with his energy and loudness.

~Foxkit~ Foxkit's kit fluffed belly dragged unskillfully across the ground as he stalked his prey. His dark brown eyes locked on his target as his small white paws shifted under his weight. One...Two...Three... He jumped and landed right on top of his prey! That leaf didn't even see him coming. Foxkit ears pricked as he looked away from his game, the leaf still pressed under his paws. Three cats made there way into the camp. Hickoryfur was leading them, but there were two strange cats following. A massive ginger tom fell behind, followed by a much smaller calico she-cat. She must be an apprentice! He took in their scent but couldn't place them other than they were different. Foxkit bounded up to Otterkit and Fawnkit, shoving his way to see the cats better. "Who are they?" He squeaked trying to be brave like Otterkit. "What are they doing in Westclan? Want me to chase them out!" he offered while weaving his small ginger tail back and forth.

Hickoryfur was relieved when Thrushwing came up to greet him. He dipped his head to her in respect. He was glad to see that the SouthClan warriors did the same. He cleared his throat and spoke up. "These SouthClan cats crossed WestClan borders. I brought them here so that they could share their story with you, and you could judge whether or not there should be consequences for it." Even if he couldn't deal directly with Scarletstar, Thrushwing was high enough command to make decisions.
He saw how the other cats in the Clan stared. It was clear that they were uneasy about warriors from another Clan being in the camp. He hoped he'd done the right thing by bringing the two SouthClan cats along with him.

Redstep wasn't about to go punished and talked about while he was only a tail length away. "My eager apprentice made a mistake" he meowed sharply as his gaze drifted around the camp. He watched three small kits tumble up curiously, future warriors and maybe leaders. The gray kit seemed especially eager, frightening his sister with his questions. "A mistake and nothing else" he repeated watching the gray kit.
He looked to Thrushwing locking eyes and daring the deputy to punish a young apprentice for her mistake. He held himself tall and proud, his eyes giving away no shame for being taken into the camp. If Leafpaw keeps her mouth shut, he thought, This could end up as nothing but a short trip. Though I wouldn't put it past her to say something mouse brained.

Leafpaw noticed the stares of the WestClan cats, particularly of the kits’ open admiration of her mentor, Redstep. And why shouldn’t they? Redstep was as devoted, loyal, and strong as warriors came. He’d been serving his Clan for over four times the time Leafpaw had even been alive. He was only in this mess because of her mousebrained eagerness. Shame and jealously prickled her paws.
She met the gaze of the WestClan deputy with fierceness in her icy blue eyes. The conversation between the three warriors buzzed in her head. She had to set this right. Had to make this as painless as possible for Redstep and herself. The apprentice dipped her head to Thrushwing as she meowed, “I was chasing prey on SouthClan’s side of the territory. It ran across the Stardust Trail and I followed it, where I caught it beyond WestClan’s borders.”
The calico she-cat stood a little straighter as she added, “It was SouthClan’s prey. WestClan’s scent marks were so weak that I missed them.” As soon as she said it, Leafpaw immediately took a step back and flattened her ears against her head. For StarClan’s sake, why can’t I just keep my stupid mouth shut?! she thought miserably. She knew using “Clan” and “weak” in the same sentence, in any context, was disastrous. Leafpaw didn’t dare glance at Redstep for fear of his reaction.

&&..FAWNKIT i could really use a wish right now...
fawnkit jumped at how loud otterkit's voice was when he spoke. the little ginger she-cat was excited too, but she wasn't about to just blurt things out like her brother. noticing that her fur was still spiked, she ran her tounge down her back and what was left of her tail. after grooming to her satisfaction, she joined her brothers.
she sat down next to otterkit, ignoring those strange looks that other cats give her. by now she didn't even bother reacting. she simply kept quiet and listened to what was going on between her clanmates and the strangers.

~Foxkit~ Foxkit ran up as close as he dared to the young apprentice. His tail stuck straight up in the air as he gave her his best hiss, which wasn't much of a hiss at all compared to a real warrior. "How dare you insult Westclan!" He mewed in his loudest voice. He wanted to show his clan what a great warrior he was going to be! "Let's make them our prisoners!" He squeaked excitedly, pawing the ground and puffing up. "You don't scare me! You're as big as a mouse!" he teased darting back and forth yowling at Leafpaw. The rest of his clan may not see his behavior appropriate but Foxkit couldn't see it their way. The only thing he could see was how brave he was being. They should call me FoxTiger! He thought excitedly. These two cats won't dare harm anyone! I won't let them! Otterkit and Fawnkit were sure to see how brave he could be!

(ooc: the pic you found of fawnkit is adoooorable! xP) otterkitOtterkit watched his brother flaunt his bravery through emerald eyes. Jealously ruffled his fur, which was fluffy enough and perpetually stuck out in every direction. The little gray tom was always envious of Foxkit, who was brave and tough and strong and everything a Warrior ought to be. He would make a fantastic Warrior, and Otterkit was just a troublemaker that dragged his littermates into his schemes.
Otterkit couldn’t help it, though; any other attention was better than the condescending stares. Even negative attention. Puffing out his chest, Otterkit strutted up to Foxkit, who was teasing the SouthClan apprentice. “Let’s keep them as our prisoners in the nursery,” he suggested with sincerity. “Our mother is out and me, Foxkit, and Fawnkit can guard them! SouthClan is full of lame cats that even a WestClan kit could take on!” He shot a defiant glare at the ginger SouthClan deputy, but his intense, amber eyes frightened him. Otterkit stumbled back with a mew.

~Foxkit~ Foxkit's ears pricked up and he turned away from his teasing. Was that a cat yowling? Slowly backing away from his littermates the small ginger and white tom lowered himself to the ground in order to blend in. He scarcely heard his brothers words as he backed up to the edges of the camp. Had no one else heard that? Otterkit and Fawnkit would have to deal with the strangers themselves, besides! They were old enough to be apprentices. He looked around at his clanmates. Some where sick and he could hear their raspy voices as they discussed the South clan deputy and his scrawny mouse-brained apprentice. Foxkit decided he would investigate the noise himself! Kits weren't allowed out of the camp but I should be ann apprentice by now! He thought feeling irritation over come him. I'll show them I'm ready! He grumbled before slinking out of camp. With all the illness and commotion no cat would notice he was gone for a while. He would be back before they even had time to chase off those mangy southclan cats. Well, Cat in a half! He said eyed Leafpaw one last time before leaving the camp for good.
