Lightningfur's ears flattened against her head. Scatterstar. There you are. After the battle is done. She looked to her clanmates, no doubt sharing their feelings towards their new orders. This was Eastclan's territory. Not Northclans. Lightningfur shook her head slightly. She, nor her clanmates, belonged here. This was not their mountain home.
Lightningfur turned towards the remaining warriors. She locked eyes with a young she-cat. Not just any young she-cat. The East Clan Medicine cat. Her spotted pelt earned her the name of Snowfall. Just as Lightningfur's pelt earned her the name she bears proudly. Or the name I wish I could bear proudly She thought bitterly looking back into the eyes of her leader. His eyes held no compassion. Only the hunger for power. She stared into those eyes, looking for the strength to defy him. Strength she couldn't find in herself.
Lightningfur turned back again to the she-cat. Maybe if the medicine cat ran, the others would follow without more blood being spilled. She drew back her lips and hissed, while her pelt lay flat on her back. Please run! Lightningfur launched herself at the she-cat, swiping her claw and catching her on the muzzle.
"Run!" She hissed with more of a plea then a threat in her voice. Lightningfur jumped forward and hit the cat's flank with her broad head. "This isn't your home anymore." Her blue eyes yearned to cry out and ask these cats, starclan, anyone, for forgiveness. Instead her blue eyes only stared at the she-cat, willing her to run before Scatterstar claimed her life as well.
"Go!" She yowled one more time nipping at the she-cats heels. You will only be safe if you run! She thought, not daring let her pleas escape the tip of her tongue.

and Snowfall[/blockquote] Raising his dark head toward Lightningfur as she called out to the warring cats, Fishbone was happy his Clanmate had stepped up to make the announcement. He couldn’t bring himself to speak at that moment. Using her ginger-ringed tail as a guide, the tabby tom followed Lightningfur out of the camp.
But an enthusiastic figure burst into the copse of trees, the thrill of triumph emanating from every fur on his pelt. Scatterstar. Fishbone felt bile rise in his throat. There wasn’t any glory in this victory. It was the result of blood thirst and a lust for power. He glanced at Poisonthorn. Fishbone wondered what was going through the black Warrior’s mind when Poisonthorn prepared himself to deal the killing blow to a leader nine times over. Where was the victory in that?
Fishbone turned back to his leader with a dark look smoldering in his amber eyes. What would happen if he defied Scatterstar right now? The NorthClan leader had no more authority without StarClan than the dead Ripplestar had now. Scatterstar… he had only one life, too, didn’t he? That might explain why he cowered the whole battle. Fishbone narrowed his eyes. Well, now Scatterstar had as much divine power as the rest of them. Mutiny filled his mind down to his paws, where he caught himself and quickly retracted his claws.
Fishbone would obey—if anything, for his Clan. They had won, and the territory was theirs. There was no point in shedding blood and retreating. His gaze fell upon a brown- and russet-colored apprentice. Hawkpaw fought with the ferocity of LionClan shining in his eyes, despite his youth, and Fishbone admired him for it.
Expression deadpanning, Fishbone sprung upon the apprentice. “You heard the news,” he hissed. “This area belongs to NorthClan!” Run away, he willed the EastClan cat, before things become worse. As the NorthClanner chased the tabby apprentice from the camp, he caught Lightningfur attacking the EastClan medicine cat. She had been speaking with their own new medicine cat and they appeared... friendly? He heard Snowfall yowl in passing to Harespirit, “We’ll meet again, and we’ll fix this!” before she was forced to turn and retreat with the rest of EastClan.

Hawkpaw looked at the body of his leader as Ripplestar lay still in the grass. Hawkpaw's eyes saw nothing but his leader, hardly noting the enemy leader had approached the other cats. He only tore his shocked gaze away when he saw a ginger and white she-cat chasing off his sister. Go. Go move. Move now. He thought to himself, urging his paws on but they wouldn't budge. He felt frozen in time. Everything moved in slow motion. The she-cat butting her head against Snowfall. The small dark turn hissed threats at him but his ears didn't hear.
Finally Hawkpaw forced his paws to move, to turn and run. There was nothing for him here now. He jumped and hissed at the she-cat before running to catch up with his sister. "Snowfall. Hurry!" He meowed fearful the Northclan leader would change his mind and order them all dead. Eastclan couldn't fight them off now.
His paws thudded past dead warriors from both sides. He hissed to himself, his pelt raised as their dark eyes watched him and the remaining Eastclan cats run from their home.
"I swear by Starclan I will avenge my clan. One day Scatterstar, my teeth and claws will find you." He promised to himself.
Hawkpaw was twelve moons old and ready to be a warrior. Even without his warrior name he knew he had to put his clan first. He looked to the other cats and to his sister as he ran. Ran for his life from a blood thirsty leader and dark-hearted cats. Eastclan was no longer his home.

[THiSTLESTRiPE] Thistlestripe let out a yowl of mourning when she saw the NorthClan cats corner and kill the leader of their Clan. Her heart sank, she knew that now she would have to take his place. She would have to travel in order to gain her name as Thistlestar, and appoint a new deputy. All the weight of responsibility hit her but she was still strong.
"Come on, EastClan!" she yowled to them. "We may have been defeated, but we'll come back with ten times the strength against them. In the meantime, retreat to the Rockfall Cave!" She knew that the cave was just big enough to keep the remaining cats of the Clan sheltered.

Poisonthorn looked horrified. Ripplestar wasn't going to get up again. Why did he only ever have one life? Did StarClan not accept him? Or maybe... maybe StarClan wasn't around to accept him. Maybe StarClan had abandoned the Clans. Were they all alone without their warrior ancestors to guide them? He looked around at his clanmates and then back to Scatterstar.
This was all their leaders fault. Could any of them trust him anymore? They would have followed him to the Dark Forest before, but now none of them seemed to approve of his bloodlust and hunger for power. He watched the other warriors drive away the EastClan cats, and Thistlestripe swore revenge against them. What have we done? he wondered.

Harespririt turned his head when he saw Scatterstar and the look of joyous triumph on his face. His leader had gotten what he wanted, even if it may not have been in the best way possible. He sighed inwardly and watched as his Clanmates began chasing EastClan away; seeing Snowfall and her Clan running sent a twinge going through the medicine cat's heart. 'Was it all really what was best in the end? Even with StarClan as silent as they have been?' he asked himself, still in a state of confusion. Should he be glad that his Clan made it out alive, that he made it out alive? Very possibly, and somewhere deep down he was in fact thrilled that he had come out of this mess alive.
Still, despite that primal joy of survival, he couldn't help but feel guilt in the fact that this war happened in the first place. Sure, he wasn't Scatterstar, he wasn't even a full medicine cat at the time the battle started. Yet, he felt that this could have been avoided. His newfound friend in the EastClan medicine cat was possibly what drove his guilt. He couldn't help Snowfall stop the fight, no matter how much he wish he had. His mentor and her mentor were both gone now. And this was all due to ambition and bloodlust.
"Are there any cats that have left the camp that need attention?" the blue-gray tom asked, wondering if he could make up for not being able to help during the actual battle itself. The majority of his time he had been kept out of the battlefield as much as possible, save his wounds from a confused warrior. Speaking of his wounds, the shallow gashes stung with every movement his body made save breathing and talking. He would have to remember to tend to his own wounds and not just those that the warriors of his Clan had suffered.
