JAGGER
In the forest known as Raiders' Run, a wicked, handsome calico slept bathing in sunlight. He was smirking in his sleep again, dreaming of a life of luxury. He dreamed of the freshest, finest prey, and all the beautiful toms he could ever want. He especially dreamed of Koschei, the odd-eyed, gorgeous leader of the Raiders. He'd always admired Koschei since the very day he'd laid eyes on him. He was so commanding, so powerful... something that Jagger was incredibly attracted to. He wanted more than anything to be Koschei's right-hand cat, and maybe even something more. He had nothing but love and the deepest loyalty for the Sovereign. His claws curled as his fantasies continued. But his dreams ended as he heard an abrupt noise. Through sky-blue eyes he glared out, hissing, wondering who had interrupted his sleep.

It had been a long time since Rune had been back to Raiders' Run. He was almost certain that he would have been missed. If not by Koschei, than at least by his squadron leader, Jagger. His arrival was well announced by the branches he cracked through on his way to the camp. He didn't take the usual worn trail, preferring to make more of an irritating entrance.
He didn't like or appreciate the Raiders. He was only there to keep his former Clan mates out of trouble, especially his best friend. Through the thorns and the leaves Rune stalked, until he saw that flaunty calico Jagger. Frowning, and wondering if he'd be reprimanded for his long leave, he walked over to him. "Greetings, Jagger," he noticed that the cat looked like he'd been asleep. "Dreaming of nice things?"

RUNE: "Dreaming of nice things?"
He certainly had been, until Rune came along. He despised how that cat thought he could come and go as he wished. Loyalty was primary among those who were part of the Raiders. If you weren't loyal to Koschei, and to every other member of the group, you were nothing. Rune might as well be freelance with how little he fit in with them. Nonetheless, the cat had somehow managed to reach the rank of lieutenant, no doubt because of his very sharp skills. He had that warrior blood, Jagger had heard. Clan cats with their keen senses and all. They were still no match for the toughest of Raiders.
"Yes, I had been dreaming of nice things," Jagger replied bitterly, voicing his thoughts. "What brings you back to Raiders' Run, Rune? You haven't been here in some time, I seem to think. I've been running many a raiding party without my lieutenant at my side." His words were laced with some kind of angry growl.

[bg=352d24][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]KOSCHEI: SOVEREIGN OF RAIDERS
He was a cat of calamity, but by no means any less charming because of it. Koschei strode into his Raiders' Run, carrying his head held high. His silky, perfectly groomed fur was lit by the sunlight. Everything was going just as he would have imagined, and even wanted it to. Day by day the Raiders were growing, even by force. Through recruiting and even stealing away kits from the Clans, they had amassed a ragtag collection of cats who were now completely loyal to him.
It only took a little bit of brainwashing to make it so. Some of the cats with less morals didn't even have to be brainwashed, though. It was mostly only those pesky little cats from the Clans. He saw one of them standing over there, talking to Jagger. A captain and a deputy of the same squad, perfect pictures of what Koschei wanted... most of the time.
Rune had been taking by force from the Clans. He was a wayward cat, however. Koschei was certain that he hadn't been brainwashed to the full extent that he could have been. In fact, the only thing keeping that cat where he was most likely was the threat of having his family and friends destroyed. Surely enough, the Raiders would not bluff. If Rune even thought about going back, they'd be on top of killing everyone he held near and dear. Still, his skills were worth a lot to Koschei, so Rune was Lieutenant of the first Raiding Party.
Jagger was a different story. Never had Koschei seen such pride and loyalty for the Raiders instilled in one cat. Though, sometimes Koschei wondered if the pride and loyalty was only to himself, and not fully to every Raider there was. Jagger seemed to like Koschei, more than just a little bit. With his history in being involved with... certain activities, Koschei wouldn't be surprised for a minute if Jagger professed his love for him.
"Salute, Raiders," he greeted. "It's fine to see you back in camp again, Rune. Don't leave again, or I'll make sure you pay for it dearly." He turned to Jagger. "Did you have a pleasant nap, Jagger? I hope so. You work too hard for me, don't you know?" |

Rune smirked at that bitter hint in Jagger's voice. He didn't care that he hadn't been at the run for a while. It wasn't as though Jagger could stop him from going off on his own. As a high ranking Raider, he felt he could do what he wanted to. The only problem was making sure Koschei didn't catch him. He sat down next to the calico tom, and prodding his side.
"I'll bet you were dreaming of nice things, indeed, Jagger," he meowed. "Like Koschei, for instance." It was no secret about how much of a Koschei fanboy Jagger was.
Speak of the devil, Rune scented Koschei approaching. He flattened his ears. He was bothered to hear the casual reprimand for his being out of camp, however he didn't want to call Koschei's bluff. "Understood, Sovereign," he meowed, almost mumbling. He didn't doubt for a second that Koschei would tear his friends and family apart if he didn't obey orders. That's why he was still with the Raiders, after all.

KOSCHEI: "Did you have a pleasant nap, Jagger? I hope so. You work too hard for me, don't you know?"
Jagger barely knew what to say for all the pride he was feeling. He lifted his head to glimpse at the Raider Sovereign. Those peculiar odd-eyes, that perfectly groomed ginger and white fur. There couldn't be a more perfect cat in the world, at least in Jagger's eyes. He dipped his head in respect.
"Thank you, Koschei. I do my best." He certainly did do his best. His entire life was almost centered around making Koschei pleased with him. If there ever was am enthusiastic suck up, it was Jagger.
RUNE: "I'll bet you were dreaming of nice things, indeed, Jagger. Like Koschei, for instance."
This kind of mockery was not received well by the calico captain. He sprang to his paws, and put his face near Rune's, with his sharp white teeth glistening. "Shut it, you twit," he spat angrily. "You're just padding closer to the edge; digging your own grave, and a grave for all the ones you hold dear, Rune. Watch your step."

[bg=352d24][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]KOSCHEI: SOVEREIGN OF RAIDERS
Koschei was mildly amused at the display of threats and sharp remarks that were being exchanged between the captain and the lieutenant. At the same time, though, he was displeased about how unwell they were getting along together. For cats to work in rank, they would have to display a better grasp of tolerance for even those who picked on them. Save the vitriol and brutal treatment for the newcomers, who still needed to be put in their place.
"That's enough, now," he purred, his voice still calm. "How am I to run a successful Raider clan if my Raiders are always fighting among themselves? Jagger, sweetness, you must remember Rune's Clan roots. They're deep, and the warrior blood is wild; prone to quick remarks of sarcastic nature." It was not unknown how critical Koschei could be of Clan cats. He knew that their fighting and hunting instincts were incredible, but he always thought that they lacked intelligence, and were barbaric.
He turned to the two of them. "I want you to fetch a few more Raiders, and go out on a raid of the EastClan. It's a long walk away, but I feel as though you need to work things out between yourselves. We can't work as one, when we're divided. Raiders are about loyalty, you should know that." |

♥ ROSE ♥ Raider The beautiful she-cat walked gracefully over to the group of Raiders, several mice dangling from her jaws. She set down the mice in front of them, giving them a small nod before her blue eyes darted to Koschei, seeing if he was pleased. "Hello Jagger, Rune, Koschei. How are you doing today?" her voice as sweet as honey, which means she was in a charming mood but an especially sweet personality, although she could have some tricks up her sleeve. There was no reason to ask this, she had been eavesdropping and decided to show herself at this point. The calico knew Jagger had a strange thing for Koschei, and it was slightly disturbing to her. Was she jealous of the attention Koschei gave to Jagger? No, as long as she got some too. Unlike Jagger, Rose wasn't in love with their Sovereign. Sure, she does love him, but in a daughterly way, since Koschei had taken her in as a small kit. She'd always think of him as a father/guardian, and nothing more.

Rune only laughed at Jagger's threats on his life. If there was one cat whose bluffs he didn't take seriously, it was his. It wasn't until Koschei interjected that he decided to shut his mouth. He growled when the Sovereign mentioned stereotypes he believed about the Clan cats. He wasn't any more sarcastic or wild than any of the other Raiders. He tried his best not to let his anger show.
When Koschei ordered them out on a raid, he sighed heavily. EastClan was a good two day, maybe even three day walk away from Raiders' Run. It would be a lot of travel, and sore paws. You had to have a lot of endurance to be a Raider, that much was true. "Order understood, Sovereign," he meowed, gnashing his teeth.
He turned when he heard Rose greet them. Another one of Koschei's favorites. He rolled his eyes. "I'm as well as could be, given the situation," he replied to her greeting.

KOSCHEI: "How am I to run a successful Raider clan if my Raiders are always fighting among themselves? Jagger, sweetness, you must remember Rune's Clan roots. They're deep, and the warrior blood is wild; prone to quick remarks of sarcastic nature."
While mostly focused on the fact that Koschei had called him 'sweetness', whether serious or not, he took in what his leader had to say about Clan cats. Jagger didn't remember exactly where he'd come from, but it had been somewhere in the nearby twoleg village. He knew with all certainty that he'd never been a Clan cat, though. They were wild, unintelligent creatures; only able to interact with smarter cats after properly being conditioned.
"Naturally, Koschei," he meowed.
When met with the news of the raiding party, Jagger was excited. "That sounds excellent. I'll gather a few Raiders and --" He barely managed to speak before Rose came by, giving them a greeting.
ROSE: "Hello Jagger, Rune, Koschei. How are you doing today?"
I know who I'm taking on raid with me, he thought. He knew that Rose was one of Koschei's favorites. They weren't romantically involved, which was relieving to him, but she was a rival for Koschei's attention. They had some kind of father and daughter relationship, after all. Jagger sighed.
"Greetings, Rose. The Sovereign was just organizing a raiding party. Would you like to come along? It's all the way up in the EastClan territories, but that shouldn't hinder you, should it?" he purred to her.

[bg=352d24][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]KOSCHEI: SOVEREIGN OF RAIDERS
The sovereign turned his head as Rose walked towards them. Now, there was a cat he could depend on. Ever since he'd taken her in when she was a young kitten, she'd displayed nothing but the utmost loyalty to him. A true display of just what he wanted in a Raider, she was. When Jagger suggested she go on the raiding party, he wholeheartedly agreed.
"Yes, why don't you go with Rune and Jagger, Rose?" he purred. He looked down at the mouse she'd brought into camp and nodded to her with approval. "That's a good catch you have there. I think you'd do very well on this trip."
He knew very well that Jagger could often times be jealous of any of Koschei's favorites, but in this case it seemed like he was being fairly amiable towards Rose. Maybe he was making some progress in not being so possessive and obsessive. |

♥ ROSE ♥ Raider The she-cat rolled her eyes at Rune, not wanting to deal with whatever attitude he had now. Her attention turned to Jagger, another of Koschei's favorites. Hinder her? Just as she was to reply, the Sovereign spoke, and all her attention turned to him. "Thanks, Koschei." she says, nodding. Rose turnes her head to look at Jagger, a mischevious look in her blue eyes. "And I don't mind tagging along, Jagger. Don't worry, it won't be a hinder. I'm not as fragile as I look." the pretty calico says, giving her chest fur a quick lick. She waits for Jagger to give any kind of order for them to start their journey to the EastClan territories.

Post by Toadie on Jul 2, 2011 16:54:54 GMT -5
For the first time in a long time, Toadie was actually allowed to roam about Raiders' Run without supervision. He had been through a lot of hard, brutal training and conditioning when he arrived. It was like boot camp. He had only been exploring when he had been kidnapped by the Raiders. He didn't know what had gone on, but they forced him into living with them and adapting their ways. At first they had treated him poorly, but as time went by they began to act like some kind of twisted family.
He was told by the Raiders that he still had a lot to learn. They each took time out to teach him how to do one thing or another. He saw a bunch of Raiders gathered in the middle of the camp, and noticed that the cat they called the Sovereign was among them. He swallowed, having heard stories about Koschei. He slunk towards them, and let out a quiet greeting with his belly low to the ground. "Hello, Raiders," he meowed. "I know I'm just a Fledgling, but do you mind if I join your conversation?"

When Rose was invited along on the raid, Rune was rather annoyed. It was natural that Koschei would pick his favorites to go along, but he didn't want to be overwhelmed by a bunch of cats who thought they were on top of the world just because the Sovereign took time out of his busy schedule to speak with them on occasion.
"Well, we should be started if we want to make good time," he suggested to Jagger. He then noticed Toadie sitting nearby, quietly requesting permission to speak. He felt badly for the former kittypet. He always felt bad for the young ones who were forced into the Raider lifestyle. Still, he knew it would probably be good for the fledgling to get some experience. "Toadie, would you like to come along?" he asked.

JAGGER
When Jagger heard Koschei praised Rose for her catch, he felt a little sick to his stomach. It was some form of jealousy, as he often got when some other cat was holding Koschei's attention at the moment. Jagger looked down at his paws until Rose spoke.
ROSE: "And I don't mind tagging along, Jagger. Don't worry, it won't be a hinder. I'm not as fragile as I look."
He smirked just a little. He knew that the other calico was a fighter. He couldn't help but tease, just to vent his frustration at there being such a close relationship between her and Koschei. "We'll see," he said to her, not holding back on the vitriolic doubt.
TOADIE: "Hello, Raiders. I know I'm just a Fledgling, but do you mind if I join your conversation?"
Jagger turned to see the young black and white fledgling. Toadie had only been with them for a few moons, but he was past the stage of being treated with brutality in order to gain submission and respect. "I don't see why not."
RUNE: "Well, we should be started if we want to make good time."
"Wise words, for a Clan cat," Jagger meowed. He then heard Rune's invitation for Toadie to come along and he rolled his eyes. He didn't want to be responsible for a fledgling along the way. Nonetheless, it was the only way the little cat was going to get any experience. He didn't think that Toadie had ever been on a raiding party before. There was a first time for everything, though.
